theholidaylet.com was launched by Liz Adams and Craig Elstob in September 2008.

How it started
We weren't new to running a business - we're both self employed - Liz as a Beauty Therapist and Craig as an IT Engineer. However, we were seeking a new challenge as well as some extra income.

Why holiday lets? Like most things in life it was more by luck than judgment. We started helping with another internet project in a similar field and realised we had a passion for it. We also worked very well together, in a cat and dog kind of way. A chance comment by Craig was all it took to spark an idea and the formulation of the concept of a holiday letting website.

Building the site
It was obvious that ours wasn't an original idea but we were undeterred, seeing possibilities and improvements over existing websites. We wanted to bring our own ideas and experience to a site and with a background in advertising, marketing and IT and a genuine love of travel and property, we decided to combine our skills and launch theholidaylet.com. 

It's taken nearly two years in the making with a lot of hard thinking, extensive research and intense debate into what you, the customer, want from a holiday listing site. We've determinedly hung onto our vision throughout several setbacks, and finally, with the help of our brilliant website designers 9xb, we have a site to be proud of.

Our Aims
Our principle has been to give you the very best advertising we can, at an affordable price. Without compromising on design, we aimed to keep our site simple and user-friendly - advertisers get a top quality property page which is easy to load and update, and easy for customers to find. We offer online help and email support - reducing the need for extra staff and expensive overheads and enabling us to keep prices down.

That is the story so far, but it is just the beginning. We look forward to seeing the site grow and flourish in the coming months and years and we'll put our full commitment and dedication into making it happen.
