Description
Villa Anatoli is a beautifully designed and built home set in 1.75 acres of olive groves in the unspoilt part of the island known as Ayios Georgios (St George). Its location is tranquil and rural but it is only a short drive to Glossa village and the beaches of Perivoliou, Angeletou, Pethameni and Hondros Georgios are a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk (35 minutes coming back up the hill!).
The breathtaking view is probably the main feature of the house, however, and on a clear day it extends to Mt Athos in the north and Skyros island in the south, but whatever the weather it is always spectacular.
The house is set up as a home from home so you will find the quality of the contents much higher than you would expect. White Company linen and John Lewis fluffy towels are matched with the beach towels and hamman wraps which will be waiting for you by the pool. The basics are all provided with washing powder, tea, some coffee beans our own olive oil and maybe other garden produce there for you to use.
The house itself comprises of a large stone built living room with vaulted beamed chestnut ceiling and is 6x7 meters and 4.75 meters high with 3 opening French windows leading onto a canopied terrace overlooking the swimming-pool. It is furnished with a mix of antique, modern and commissioned pieces.
The kitchen is fitted with a Smeg double stainless steel oven and ceramic hob. A Bosch stainless steel dish-washer and a very large refrigerator /freezer/wine-cellar from John Lewis again in stainless steel plus all the normal appliances, such as food processor/hand blender etc, that any cook would need.
Both the bathroooms are made of polished cement with marble hand-basins and are situated next to the bedrooms, one upstairs and one down. We provide L'occitane soap for guests use.
Two of the bedrooms also have the amazing view through double French windows and feature hand made king size beds crafted from recycled wood. There is also a fold out single and a cot if required. The downstairs bedroom has access to the pool along the front of the house and has a large glass and aluminium wardrobe. The upstairs bedroom has a vaulted chestnut ceiling, a wooden balcony and also a large roof terrace and the furniture is local antiques sourced from the island.
We have added a third bedroom which would share the downstairs bathroom with bedroom 2. It has its own little courtyard and Is available for an additional 10% pw if required. If not we just use it as storage space.
We have added an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue. a gas hob . a fridge and a cold water sink so you can enjoy even more of the outside life of Greece!
The house and front terraces are floored in water-blasted cream marble which is a softer finish than normal marble but still has the cooling effect. And the south terrace beneath the Koukinaria trees (pine-nut) is paved in local Pelion stone. There are a number of terrace areas around the house set in beautiful gardens which are truly stunning.The villa is very private, set in large grounds (1.7 acres-.7 hectare)with gardens and olive groves with no near neighbours. so no one will disturb your privacy.
The infinity pool is located right in front of the villa (you can walk down the sloping path or there are steps from the living room terrace.)and is 40.5 sq meters and is 1.55m deep with staircase style steps running down into it and has a large marble terrace around it with 6 wooden sun-beds umberellas etc.
The house has an internet connection via Wi-Fi and a DVD player should you want it.
We offer a free transfer if you arrive via Skiathos airport with SeaCab.gr . to Glossa. for up to 4people. any extra people cost 25€ each.

Location description
Villa Anatoli has a fantastic location for a peaceful holiday. Most guests don't want to leave once they arrive and everyone comments on the views which are truly world class. Just a few minutes drive below the house (145 meters above sea level) is the first of 4 beautiful beaches which are deep coves with sparkling clear blue water. The unspoiled village of Glossa with its cafes, bars, tavernas and shops is just a 10 min drive away and as you walk down into this hill village its like stepping back in time. The church on the rock Ayios Yiannis (famous from the film Mamma Mia) is just on the other side of Glossa and the port of Glossa (which is also know locally as Loutraki) is a short drive from the village.
Other activities
There is a Kayak school in which caters for all levels and does short sunset trips which are popular with our guests and nearby are also stand up paddle boarding, a diving school and various other watersports. and rental boats/bikes
Tourist attractions
The church on the rock famous for the wedding scene in the Mamma Mia film is close to Glossa and the beach they used Kastani is only 20 minutes away.
Directions
Most people fly direct to Skiathos which is just 8 Kilometers from the port of Glossa, then its a quick trip across on a ferry.Or Volos then 2-3 hrs on a boat. Or people fly into Athens and then commute up on an internal flight that takes 20 minutes. (bus/boat also available) Thessaloniki has a direct superfast flying cat to Skopelos now which takes 3.40mins. For people arriving from Skiathos Airport we provide 4 free tickets on the arrival date on www.seacab.gr (weather permitting) extra tickets at €25pp.We also advise on ferry transfers and arrange a hire car for you - meet you at the port and take you to the villa via the shops so your arrival is stress free.

Wonderful villa
We had a fantastic week at Villa Anatoli in late August 2022. Martin was brilliant in communicating before and during our stay, helping sort transfers and car hire, meeting us at the port and showing us to his amazing villa. The views are sensational and we enjoyed peaceful sunrises looking out over the sea. The pool was perfect for us all and we enjoyed meeting the villa cats each day! The garden landscaping was so natural and created the perfect setting for the villa. It is very well equipped and has a welcoming atmosphere that we settled into straight away. We are coming back in 2023 and cannot wait!
Exceptional Place
We are Skopelos veterans and this is, by far, the best villa we've stayed in. Anatoli looks great in the pics, but they don't do it justice. It's beautifully designed and furnished, with terrific attention to detail and the best of everything (White Company linen, Global knives etc). The garden, which you don't really see in the pics, is beautifully landscaped and terraced, with a winding path leading down through huge lavender and rosemary bushes to the infinity pool. Martin, the owner, was very helpful and generously insisted that we helped ourselves to all things growing in the garden - the cucumbers were delicious! We'd recommend it to anyone.
