Normandy Remembrance, Burcy, France

Across Normandy the 6th of June is celebrated with various ceremonies - here at Burcy veterans from the regiments who fought in the area re visit in a rememberance service at the local pavee, laying wreaths for the fallen. School children attend with the mayors of the three local comunes together with the local inhabitants to join in this ceremony.
After the service everyone attends the village hall for refreshments and to reminisce. At Montchamp village a few miles to the north of Burcy there is a small millitary cemetery where a larger ceremony takes place. Dinner and presentations follow, with military envoys from various armed forces in attendence.
