Fete de Sel (The Festival of Salt), Salies de Bearn, France
6th - 9th September
This is held every year in the ancient town of Salies de Bearn to celebrate the fortunes made in medieval times by natural salt found there. The salt is available to this day. Most of the houses in the centre of Salies date from the 15th and 16th century. Visit the museum of Salt.
