Marciac Jazz Festival, Marciac, France

The Marciac Jazz Festival, held for the first two weeks in August is a wonderful summer music festival for all the family. The festival has been hosted for approximately 20 years and now attracts thousands of people from all over the world.
The town of Marciac is totally transformed with the main concert arena able to seat 5000 guests for which tickets are essential. The headline act for 2008 was Diana Krall. However, live jazz is played in the main square where most buildings are converted into restuarants and bars.
There is also a fantastic market held every day with every stall you could wish for! Local food and drink stalls are not to be missed. The atmosphere is wonderful and the whole of the town is very child friendly. Parking, which is free, is very well organised and signposted.
