Villa Emerald is a beautiful, tropical-style, open plan villa with a private salt water swimming pool and separate jetted plunge pool. This lovely Villa is one of three villas, created within an area of outstanding beauty, ancient granite boulders and swaying coconut trees.

Villa Emerald is located on hillside land with amazing panoramic ocean views of the Gulf of Thailand and surrounding islands. This spacious Villa is situated on the 22 acre area of ocean view hillside land known as Sitara Retreat, which provides 24 hour security.

Villa Emerald is for couples who want a beautiful tropical setting, with the most amazing ocean views that look over to the mainland over 20 kilometers away.

The Villa has one bedroom for 2 guests, with a spacious open plan living and dining room with salt water swimming pool and separate jetted plunge pool, Reading room, charming trellis style Retreat, spacious open plan Thai kitchen with electric cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, etc, and beautiful large oak table with 8 chairs. The spacious living room overlooks the private salt water swimming pool and separate jetted plunge pool.

At Villa Emerald you will find a spacious tropical style, living and dining area together with a Reading Room, both displaying captivating views of the shimmering emerald ocean, and far reaching views of the delightful surrounding islands.

Stepping outside, is the salt water swimming pool and jetted plunge pool. During the daytime relaxing at the pools, you can admire and soak up the fabulous ocean views and surrounding lush nature; or enjoy your time in the pools in the delight of the evening time with cocktails or a bottle of good wine.

There is a gas barbecue located at the poolside where you can enjoy cooking freshly caught fish or meat from the local market and have a romantic meal, together with the backdrop of twinkling lights of the fishing boats out at sea.

Returning to the open style living area you will find threes sofas, together with large flat screen tv, and a beautiful tropical hardwood floor. The Reading Room has two armchairs, together with bookcase, filled with a selection of books. Wile away your time reading a good book, or just relaxing, and admiring the fabulous views across to the beautiful ocean and the exquisite surrounding nature of the villa.

Also throughout Villa Emerald, during the evening time, you can see the shining lights of the numerous fishing boats out at sea, with the twinkling stars and shining moon, creating a wonderfully, magical ambiance. In fact, there is nowhere in Villa Emerald where you will not capture and admire a spectacular ocean view.

Adjoining the living area is also an attractive trellis-style open air retreat with oriental mattresses, where you can lie down, relax and take a siesta, during the heat of the midday sun. Stepping from here, is a small bridge, which spans the lotus pond with colourful tropical fish and greenery.

The wonderfully spacious open-plan fitted kitchen with its beautiful hand-made oak table and chairs is where you can experience fine dining, set amidst the striking granite boulders and lush garden area with stunning ocean views.

Also provided is a small utility area with washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board and guest WC. Outside rain shower to pool area and guest WC.

Above the living area, the bedroom is situated with a beautiful tropical hardwood high vaulted ceiling, complete with en-suite bath tub, shower, double vanity unit and WC, created with the classic look of Terrazzo. The bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, dressing table, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and leads out to its balcony where you can delight in the fabulous far-reaching views of the lush green tropical setting and emerald ocean.

All our villas have spectacular ocean views that are outstanding, with the Bedroom at Villa Emerald providing the most sumptuous views of all.

The villa is installed with fibre optic free Wi-Fi.

Complimentary pick-up for guests from the airport or ferry terminal to Villa Emerald, and return journey at the end of the visit (one in each direction).

Please note that no additional guests other than those who have booked to stay at the villa, are permitted to stay overnight.

All towels and linen provided. The villa is cleaned every 3 days, with change of clean bed linen and towels also every 3 days.

The guests have sole occupancy of the Villa. We live close by and are available for any information or assistance.

The southern part of the island where Villa Emerald is located still has the feel on Koh Samui of over 20 years ago, unlike the north of the island which can be over-crowded and busy. The Villa is located in the quieter part of the island, and makes driving a more pleasurable experience.

The use of a car or moped is the easiest way to get around. The Villa is located in the quieter part of Koh Samui, unlike the busy north of the island. Villa Emerald has outstanding ocean views and where you have this, you have a hill to climb. The villa is positioned in an outstandingly beautiful location, and is a 250 mtr length of steep hill from the entrance at Sitara Retreat. We therefore strongly recommend the use of the complimentary four wheel drive; or if you are both very confident riders, two mopeds, which we can provide for you in your rental price, and have waiting at the villa on your arrival. It is a condition of Sitara Retreat that if you drive a car it needs to be a four wheel drive. Once you have booked we can arrange the complimentary 4 wheel drive vehicle for your use during your stay at Villa Emerald.

All our cars are insured, with the guest being responsible, and limited, for the first 20,000 Baht of any damage. There is no insurance on mopeds where the guest pays for any damage incurred.

It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that they also have their own comprehensive Travel & Health Insurance, and appropriate driving documentation for Thailand.

Should you not wish to use the car or moped at any time, taxis can pick you up at the entrance of Sitara, which is a 4 or 5 minute walk down the hill.

There is private parking for a vehicle at the Villa.

Location description

Within 5-10 minute drive from the Villa you have lovely restaurants serving both delicious Thai and European food, small mini-marts for your daily needs, health massage studios and small garden bars.

Also close by is Centara Villas Resort, Samui Orchid and ShaSha Resort and Residences which open their doors to non residents and have many splendid facilities to enjoy, including a number of restaurants and bars.

Five minutes away by motorbike or car you have the fishing village of Baan Hua Thanon where fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are sold daily at the local market. Here you will also find small individual shops, couple of mini supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, Chinese temple and a doctor�s surgery running parallel with the beautiful coastline.

The seaside town of Lamai, the second largest on the island and superior to congested Chaweng, is just 12 minutes away by motorbike or car. Here you can fine dine in one of the lovely beachside restaurants, have a drink in one of the local bars, shop or stroll around this seaside town.

Directions

Airways has numerous daily flights connecting Bangkok with Samui. In addition, they have daily flights servicing the Phuket-Samui route.

Visitors can also travel to Koh Samui by bus from Bangkok via ferry.
Bangkok-Koh Samui buses depart from Bangkok�s Southern Bus Terminal at 19.30 daily. Travelling time is 13 hours.
Songserm Rungrueang Co.Ltd. operate bus services from Bangkok to Koh Samui daily at 5 pm. The bus arrives at Koh Samui at 11 am on the next day.

Visitors can take a train from Bangkok to Surat Thani Railway Station, then take a connecting bus to Koh Samui via the Ferry

Surat Thani can be most conveniently reached by car from Bangkok by taking Highway No. 4 to Chumphon via Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan, and thence onto Highway No. 41 and Highway No. 401.

Taxi
Car taxis are available almost anywhere on the island and can take you to most places, Make sure to agree on the price before departing as meters are barely used.

Motorbike Taxi
Motorbike taxis are often located near major resorts and businesses again make sure that the price is agreed on before departing.

Song Tiew
Trucks (or tutes) with bench seats and covered area on the back for people to sit, the most common form of public transport on the island and cheaper than taxis. They only travel set routes covering most of the island.

Moped
If you prefer to ride mopeds and you are confident drivers, we can provide you with complimentary/free moped(s) for the duration of your stay at the villa.
