Description
Hidden away in a corner of the glorious Devon countryside, on the edge of a quiet valley, nestled in the slopes of your own private woodland, you will find the pride of Sunridge: our luxury tree house retreat.
Far from the noise and bustle of modern life, this secret Devon getaway is not only the perfect location from which to explore the beautiful South Hams, but an enchanting arboreal sanctuary where you can unwind and let nature gently refresh your soul.
Our Devon Treehouse welcomes you with contemporary open-plan living, a state-of-the-art German kitchen and all the modern conveniences. The seating and dining area offers magnificent panoramic views of the encompassing woodland through its bi-fold doors (fling these wide open to let the outside in on your holiday!). Underfloor heating keeps things snug, while the vintage log-burning stove is perfect for those chillier nights when the wind tickles the trees.
Two bedrooms, one en-suite, occupy the separate ends of the treehouse. Both feature full-length patio doors (ensuring that youre never more than a smooth sliding action away from the natural world outside). Each bedroom also has its own separate bathroom boasting bespoke mood lighting and a free standing bath (trust me, youve not lived, or not lived as you should, until youve had a hot bath in the trees!)
Move outside onto the spacious, two-tier veranda to fully immerse yourself in this woody wonderland. Let the sun and the gentle natural soundtrack (the perpetual symphony of breeze, bird, and branch) soothe and enchant you. Cook dinner on the gas barbecue, and, as you eat it, savour the ever-shifting views down through the woodland to the shimmering golden carp fishing lake below. Our private fishing lake is stocked with an abundance of carp and is for the exclusive use of our Sunridge Treehouse, Sunridge Lodge & Sunridge Geodome guests.
Free wifi and Freeview television are not your only source of in-(tree)house entertainment. Downstairs youll find the exciting 3D cinema room, or snuggery as we sometimes affectionately call it. Curl up on the spacious sofas while watching your favourite films in 4K HD on the huge, 5 metre screen, or unleash your (or your kids) gaming side with the Xbox One and PS4 consoles and games, submerging yourself, all the while, in stunning DTS surround sound.
What Devon luxury treehouse getaway would be complete without a 5 person sensory hot tub experience? Great fun for the kids and with its bespoke mood lighting and adjustable jets a dip in the treehouse hot tub is the perfect way for adults to unwind at the end of a long day (although you might want to get the kids into bed first). All you have to do is lie back, gaze up at the star-specked, Devon-dark night sky and let the hot tub work its warm, bubbly magic on your body and mind....
Your stay may only last a few short days, but, rest assured, your Sunridge memories will last a lifetime..
Located in South Devon, Sunridge TreeHouse is close to Salcombe Coast and Dartmoor National Park. So why not book your perfect treehouse getaway with hot tub and give yourself a generous dose of luxury...
THE TREEHOUSE CINEMA SNUG:
The downstairs snuggery is a combined private 3D cinema and games room, furnished with giant comfy sofas (and 2 unfoldable single beds). The 4K Ultra HD 3D projector throws your favourite movies onto a huge 5 metre screen. And if youd rather play video games than watch films, just hook up the Playstation 4 or Xbox One and drink your fill, dude (can I call you dude? No. Alright. Sorry). Mind you, the view from this super-cosy entertainment bunker of the woody world outside is as majestic as any movie scene so you might find that youre perfectly content merely to sprawl on the sofas and stare at the trees and the wildlife.
OUTSIDE SUNRIDGE TREE HOUSE:
The apex of luxury at this secluded tree top escape where your only neighbours are the squirrels is almost certainly the private hot tub which, as dusk descends, glows like a jewel amid the trees. Fitted with 19 separate jets (thats probably at least 16 more than you need but we cant help boasting about them, all the same), modulated temperature control and bespoke mood lighting (okay, well stop there), all you have to do is lie back in the bubbles and let your cares dissolve into the air with the vapours. Its an experience guaranteed to calm even the most agitated soul. The hot tub is exclusive to our treehouse guests (be a bit weird if it was open to strangers, admittedly).
Perched in the midst of a lovely private woodland, your only neighbours at Sunridge Treehouse will be the wildlife: birds and badgers, foxes and squirrels (the usual denizens of a modest English woodland) - and we can assure you that all of them are extremely well behaved (not withstanding one rather anti-social squirrel whom we are assured will soon be moving out of the area).
The Treehouse, strategically shaded by the surrounding woodland, affords an enchanting view of the private fishing lake below (glinting enticingly through the trees and only a short stroll down from the treehouse). So, whether you want to sit on the deck with your laptop (I do hope youre not working; youre supposed to be on holiday!) or potter down to the lake for a private fishing lesson (thats more like it) with one of our friendly local lake fishermen (we have a couple of unfriendly ones if youd prefer) a rejuvenating sojourn at Sunridge Treehouse is just what your doctor should be ordering.

Location description
The South Hams is England's most outstanding area of natural beauty and you could be in the heart of it!
Minutes from Sunridge, there are beaches to die for (though we hope it wont come to that). Many remain virtually deserted all-year round. Some are so beautiful filmmakers fight to put them in their movies. Mothercombe Beach, for example, a mere five minutes from Sunridge Retreats, formed the backdrop for Emma Thompsons Oscar-winning adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, as did nearby Saltram House, a magnificent Georgian pile, once the largest stately home in Devon. On your doorstep miles and miles of country trails meander along the length of the River Erme. And the dramatic south west coast path continually vouchsafes views that are quite literally breathtaking.
Local villages brim with character and idiosyncratic charm. For the gourmet, food could not be fresher nor more tantalisingly diverse. Sample the vast range of locally grown meat, fish, vegetables and dairy products, all of it of world-class quality. Whether you want pheasant or quail, Sea Bass (my own personal favourite, not that you care a fig for my preferences) or John Dory (who?), free range home-cured bacon or Devonshire clotted cream, it's all here, and just minutes from Sunridge.
This sumptuous corner of Devon preserves a history books worth of rural traditions as well as providing manifold opportunities for invigorating leisure activity. Local towns and villages showcase a magnificent range of eighteenth and nineteenth-century architecture, while hundreds of antique shops and boutiques give the region its unique, quintessentially English flavour. Youll be forgiven for feeling that you've been taken back in time, especially on a chilly winter's night when youre sat by a crackling fire in the old village pub, slurping the foam off a pint of one of the regions many internationally acclaimed bespoke ales (Im getting well jel just telling you about it). Down alleyways and under archways of the older villages like Dartmouth you will find a plethora of craft boutiques, patisseries, local jewellers and organic-only butchers and cafes. Take a seat in one of the latter and treat yourself to an authentic Devonshire cream tea made with lashings of jam from locally grown strawberries (the gym can wait, and wait, and wait) And be assured, the gastro-pubs and restaurants in our region are as accomplished as any you'll find in London, and all of them scarcely a stones throw (alright, Im assuming youre very good at throwing stones) from your doorstep. Whether youre dining in Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Modbury, Noss Mayo, or Yealmpton, youre guaranteed to find stunning (indeed, frequently award-winning) locally-sourced food served with a smile (as opposed to a sneer, as you so often get in benighted regions like London) and accompanied, moreover, by some of the finest sea and river views in the world. What more do you need? Seriously, what more do you need?
