Description
Stunningly located on a fishing lakeshore in the heart of the Yealm Valley Sunridge Geodome is a luxury self-catering 10 metre Geodesic glamping dome in the beautiful South Hams region of Devon.
Ensconced in the midst of gorgeous natural countryside this unique dome camping retreat is brimming with luxurious contemporary features. Yes, here you get to enjoy the best that nature has to offer without sacrificing the comforts and conveniences of home. The last word in domestic luxury in the midst of a breathtaking natural landscape makes our geo dome the perfect romantic retreat or family escape.
Inside the geo dome a vast, open-plan and beautifully appointed interior awaits. If you like to cook the kitchen is German state-of the-art (the art being kitchen making!). The deluxe interior bathroom module boasts a shower, sink, towel rail and toilet (so no need to brave the elements when nature calls. Unless you want to!).
The bedroom is super comfy so you can sleep like a monarch. The dizzy heights of the glass fronted mezzanine den not only provides a bird’s eye view of the floor space and the rolling lush green fields but offers two pull-out comfy chair beds (bedding is not provided for the chair beds). As far as relaxation is concerned, whether you want to flop onto our huge (super-squidgy) sofas and watch the natural world through the immense geo dome window (be advised: a stray woodland creature may occasionally peer back at you) or marvel at the winking stars as night (a proper, thick, rural night, by the way) descends through the stargazers ceiling window, or sit in the snuggery and watch movies (on a dazzling, 4 metre, HD 3D screen), or play video games (on PS4 or XBox One) the abundantly equipped and luxuriously furnished geo dome getaway makes staying inside almost as attractive as venturing out. Oh, and a bioethanol flueless log-burner and gas fired central heating mean you’ll never be less than deliciously cosy, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing.
Perhaps the jewell in the geodome crown (if you’ll forgive the rather trite metaphor) is the private hot tub, exclusive to geo dome dwellers. Sunk tastefully into the vast, secluded decking area, mood lighting and adjustable jets make this pit of hot, softly burbling water the perfect place to unwind and soothe aching limbs after a day spent…er, doing all sorts of other stuff while looking forward to sinking into the hot tub.
The well stoked carp fishing lake can be used exclusively between our Sunridge Geodome, Sunridge Treehouse & Sunridge Lodge guests.
So why not book that perfect geodesic dome tent holiday and really indulge in complete luxury…
THE GEOCINEMA:
After a hearty alfresco meal on the generous, secluded decking, why not gather everyone inside for the latest blockbuster? The HD 3D cinema snuggery boasts an enormous 4 metre screen, complete with Dolby Atmos sound system. The living room is also furnished with a 55” 4K Ultra HD TV. The smart entertainment hub allows you to route each of the entertainment devices (i.e. Xbox One, etc.) to any of the bedroom, upper den or living room smart TV’s. Curl up on the sofas with a bag of tasty popcorn…and if the film gets dull, you can always gaze out of the windows across the wilderness instead!
There are PS4 and XBOX consoles to get to grips with too, or you might prefer to watch the blazing sunset with a welcome glass of bubbles – from the comfort of your mood-lit, private sunken hot tub, no less.
Sleeps 1-4 people (no pets):
Enormous 10 metre GeoDome (75sqm) complete with open plan living space, double comfy bed with en-suite bathroom module & sofa chair beds for a further 2 people in the den on the mezzanine.

Location description
Set amid 4 acres of beautiful tree-studded Devonshire countryside, each of our UK based luxury retreats is carefully situated to provide the perfect combination of comfort and seclusion. But to say you wont have neighbours is not entirely true - a beguiling assortment of local wildlife awaits (this is their home too remember!). It’s not uncommon to see a squirrel cartwheeling across the Geodome decking!
The private coarse fishing lake, stocked with an abundance of vigorous carp, is for the exclusive use of our Sunridge guests.
Located in the rural heart of the South West region in Devon, Sunridge Retreats is only a short drive from Dartmoor National Park and the Salcombe Coast. The only decision you have to make now is which of our luxury holiday accommodation retreats to book!
Minutes from Sunridge, there are beaches to die for (though we hope it won’t come to that). Many remain virtually deserted all-year round. Some are so beautiful filmmakers fight to put them in their movies. Mothercombe Beach, for example, a mere five minutes from Sunridge Retreats, formed the backdrop for Emma Thompson’s Oscar-winning adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, as did nearby Saltram House, a magnificent Georgian pile, once the largest stately home in Devon. On your doorstep miles and miles of country trails meander along the length of the River Erme. And the dramatic south west coast path continually vouchsafes views that are quite literally breathtaking.
Local villages brim with character and idiosyncratic charm. For the gourmet, food could not be fresher nor more tantalisingly diverse. Sample the vast range of locally grown meat, fish, vegetables and dairy products, all of it of world-class quality. Whether you want pheasant or quail, Sea Bass (my own personal favourite, not that you care a fig for my preferences) or John Dory (who?), free range home-cured bacon or Devonshire clotted cream, it's all here, and just minutes from Sunridge.
This sumptuous corner of Devon preserves a history book’s worth of rural traditions as well as providing manifold opportunities for invigorating leisure activity. Local towns and villages showcase a magnificent range of eighteenth and nineteenth-century architecture, while hundreds of antique shops and boutiques give the region its unique, quintessentially English flavour. You’ll be forgiven for feeling that you've been taken back in time, especially on a chilly winter's night when you’re sat by a crackling fire in the old village pub, slurping the foam off a pint of one of the region’s many internationally acclaimed bespoke ales (I’m getting ‘well jel’ just telling you about it). Down alleyways and under archways of the older villages like Dartmouth you will find a plethora of craft boutiques, patisseries, local jewellers and organic-only butchers and cafes. Take a seat in one of the latter and treat yourself to an authentic Devonshire cream tea made with lashings of jam from locally grown strawberries (the gym can wait, and wait, and wait…) And be assured, the gastro-pubs and restaurants in our region are as accomplished as any you'll find in London, and all of them scarcely a stone’s throw (alright, I’m assuming you’re very good at throwing stones) from your doorstep. Whether you’re dining in Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Modbury, Noss Mayo, or Yealmpton, you’re guaranteed to find stunning (indeed, frequently award-winning) locally-sourced food served with a smile (as opposed to a sneer, as you so often get in benighted regions like London) and accompanied, moreover, by some of the finest sea and river views in the world. What more do you need? Seriously, what more do you need?
