A large 6 bedroomed house, situated in beautiful private surroundings just 10 minutes drive from the traditional white Spanish villages of Riogordo and Colmenar and only 35 minutes from Malaga airport or 60 mins from Granada airport.
Set in 4.5 acres of private almond and olive trees and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, this is the perfect place to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday. The villa has broadband internet access.

Location description
Our house is situated near the beautiful villages of Riogordo and Colmenar in the Axarquia region of Andalucia in southern Spain. Both villages have an abundance of banks, shops, bars and restaurants. The Spanish love eating out and the area is well served with restuarants and bars - we provide guests with details of our favourites and how to find them. Although the house has a large pool, the beaches are less than 30 minutes away by car.
Riogordo was built by the Catholic kings besieging Velez Malaga, although there are indications of earlier settlement by the Carthaginians and Romans. It is a classic Spanish 'pueblo blanco' (white village) with houses built in the typical Moorish-influenced Andalucían village style, some with interior patios, wells and stables. Nestled amongst majestic mountain ranges, it retains a real sense of history while boasting a full range of shops, banks and restaurants. Life is tranquil and leisurely, the villagers friendly and welcoming.
Colmenar is the capital of the Montes and like Riogordo remains a working rural Spanish village. It is the administrative centre for the area with numerous shops, banks and restaurants.
Although these idyllic villages are well away from the busy Costa del Sol, they are still only 25 minutes from the beaches and attractions of the coast and with a superb road system, access to places like Granada, Cordoba, Malaga or Ronda is easy. Granada, or in winter the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada, is only an hour and a half away. There is a good bus service to Málaga from Riogordo and Colmenar, but a hire car is essential to take full advantage of the area.
Other activities
The villa is very well situated to take advantage of the many activities available in the local area. Whether your ideal holiday consists of lying about with a good book or testing the local golf courses then this is the ideal base. For beach lovers, the villa is within easy reach of the coast - less than 30 minutes drive - with access to numerous beaches. Torre del Mar also has many other activities like the Aqua Velis waterpark at Torre del Mar - one of the largest in Andalucia. Also in Torre del Mar are other activities like Karting del Sol and Ozone bowling. With the stunning mountain scenery and lots of trails for walking and photography, there is plenty to keep everyone busy. Alhambra Palace - if you only visit one thing when you are in Andalucia then it has to be the Alhambra Palace in Granada. One of the wonders of the world. Book in advance and ideally well before your holiday. The caves at Nerja are worth a visit, as is Nerja itself.

Deposit/Booking Notes
We can accept payment in either Euros or British Pounds (at the current exchange rate). Clean linen is provided weekly. Discounts are available for bookings over 2 weeks.
In addition to the main property, there are a further two large private luxury double bedrooms, situated beneath the main house, which are available for an additional €150 per week per room. These are only available to guests renting the main house and will not be let seperately..
