    Description

    When we designed The Beachcombers, we were thinking about our family, and the best holidays we have enjoyed. We wanted to create an ideal place for couples to take a romantic break, or families to relax and enjoy time together.

    Our children always loved being in water, so the pools were given serious attention. We didn't want postage stamp pools - they need to be big - big enough to play ball games in, because when the weather is hot, that's where they want to play.

    We invested in fully tiled pools and modern filtration systems so that they could be kept as clean as possible.

    We added spas as a treat for the grown-ups - a nice bubbly massage does the trick after a day of sight seeing!

    The villas themselves offer spacious accommodation for up to four guests, with extra sofa beds available if required (maximum 6). Each villa has a double bedroom, with balcony overlooking the pool, and a twin bedroom with balcony looking towards the mountain. Sofa beds are in the kitchen area.

    There are 4 villas, Pebble, Driftwood, Seashell and Sandpiper. Each has a pool and spa, and a good sized garden front and rear. Pebble and Sandpiper have the larger gardens, being at either end of the row.

    All the villas share the same beautiful sea view, and each has a parking area close to it's main door.

    The plot is fenced all round, with access via a remote controlled main gate, or small pedestrian gate.

    Location description

    The villas overlook Navarone Bay, so named because part of the famous film "The Guns of Navarone" was shot there. The area was designated as an area of natural beauty by the UN. Although it is a fairly quiet area, it is by no means isolated, being only a short drive away from Lindos to the north, and Pefkos to the south. Both villages offer a great selection of eating places, shops and beaches, although they are very different in style.

    Lindos is an ancient village, dominated by an it's Acropolis. Very pretty, with narrow streets, little white houses and natural bays. It is a 'must see' for any visitor to the island.

    Pefkos is a much newer resort, that has grown around it's sandy beaches spread below pine covered hillsides. The style is relaxed and family friendly.

    In June, Lindos hosts the Lindos Rock Festival where tribute bands play in locations in and around the village over several nights.

    Directions

    The Beachcombers are located about halfway between the villages of Lindos and Pefkos, overlooking Navarone Bay on the south-east coast of the island.
    The airport, situated in the north-west of the island, is connected by good roads, mainly dual carriageway.

    Most guests hire a car for their stay, but it is possible to use public transport to get around. There is a bus service between the villages, and there are usually plenty of taxis at the airport, and passing along the road below the villas. Transfers can be arranged from the airport.

    Many airlines offer direct flights from UK and European airports to Rhodes, including budget airlines and well established charter carriers. There is also a good service between Rhodes and Athens, where long haul flights connect.

    For those arriving by ferry, there are also taxis and hire cars available. There is a bus service from Rhodes Town to Lindos. Again, transfers can be arranged. There are ferries and smaller boats that offer services to other islands, to the mainland, and to Turkey.
