    This spacious 300 year old character stone farmhouse is located in Poitou Charente near the Dordogne border in a truly superb location overlooking far reaching uninterrupted views to the south over the countryside and has the use of extensive grounds and a good sized secluded, shared pool. It is furnished and equipped to with new soft furnishings and beds. There are 4 large BEDROOMS and 3 full sized BATHROOMS.

    The lounge has an open fireplace & 28" UK SATELLITE TV / DVD. Doors open onto the private south facing terrace with some shade, sunbeds, alfresco dining furniture and BBQ.

    The surrounding area has plenty on offer- 5 minutes away is golf & tennis at the Manoir de Longeveau , cycle and walking trails, river beaches, local markets, sightseeeing and a wide range of fabulous restaurants.

    Location description

    This area of France enjoys a wonderful climate with long summers starting early lasting well into October. The log burning stove and open fire make the farmhouse a warm and cosy place to stay in the winter. There is a pictureque river beach a short drive away if you would like a change from the pool. You can hire canoes and be driven to a nearby village and paddle back enjoying the peace and lovely scenery.

    There is tennis and golf available at Manoir de Longeveau. You can join in any of the tournaments or just play with friends. Also enjoy some great weekend entertainment in the summer.

    There are numerous beautiful old towns and villages to visit which really come alive on market days. A 50 minutes drive will take you to Brantome, the Venice of the Perigueux or St Emilion, a lovely old town where you can visit the ancient vineyards by small train and sample the wine. Drive further into the Dordogne and see the amazing Lascaux caves or the famous medieval town of Sarlat. Riberac the largest market town in the Perigord is only 20 minutes away. There are plenty of vinyards to visit or take an interesting tour of one of the Cognac Estates.

    There are some good mountain bike tracks, walks and riding schools, excellent ways to enjoy this peacful and beautiful region.

    Directions

    You can use any of the usual forms of transport to get to La ferme.

    Fly into Bordeaux or Bergerac and hire a car for the scenic drive too the house.
    Our own website gives links to all the scheduled and budget airline that fly into these airports.
    Eurostar is a good option then hire a car from Angouleme a 30 minute drive away.
    Use the channel ferry ports or Channel tunnel and drive down on the lovely quiet roads.
