    Description

    This self catering farmhouse is in a quiet location in the village of Alagoa approx. 1.5kms from the main district town of Arganil. The house is approached by a quiet lane that leads on to the apple orchards and the local vineyards of the village. There are lovely views across the countryside to Arganil and the mountains in the distance.

    The house has 3 double bedrooms one with double bed and ensuite shower and private terrace overlooking the garden and on to Arganil and the mountains in the distance. The second bedroom has a double bed and looks out across the fields to the mountains in the distance and the third bedroom has 2 single beds, there is also a 2nd separate shower room. The living room has maintained the natural stone walls and large wooden beams and has Portuguese satellite TV (some English channels), DVD/CD, wood burner, books and games and a sofa bed. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave,fridge/freezer, washing machine, pots etc. The garden has outside dining furniture, some sun loungers and a BBQ.

    Location description

    There are lots of river beaches along the Rio Alva where you can swim in the clear waters. At Sarzedo river beach, less than 2 kms, there is also a council built outdoor swimming pool. At Secarias, 2kms, and Coja, 10kms, you can hire pedaloes and canoes or just swim and relax.. Fishing is also available along the river banks you will need a licence approx. 5.
    Coimbra is one of the oldest university cities in Europe and worth a visit. The seaside is less than an hours drive with long sandy beaches and during the winter the Serra de Estrela has snow on its peaks where there is skiing.
