    Description

    Baker's Cottage offers you home comforts within convenient walking distance of Chester City Centre. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) with a family bathroom.

    We welcome couples, small groups and families with children. The cottage is well equipped with a high chair and travel cot as well as books and games for our younger guests.

    The house is arranged on two floors with a slightly steep staircase that makes it less suitable for guests with limited mobility. Please feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions about accessibility issues.

    The cottage is in an Edwardian terrace in the quiet, residential area of Handbridge on the River Dee. It's under half a mile to the riverside Groves with restaurants, ice cream stands and boat rides. From the river it's less than half a mile to the heart of Chester's historic city centre.

    Chester makes an excellent base for exploring North Wales, Liverpool and the Wirral peninsular by car. Guests have exclusive use of the off-street parking area immediately in front of the house.

    Baker's Cottage is available all year round for short breaks from 2 nights to longer holidays of up to 14 nights. The open fire and easily adjustable central heating make it a cosy base for winter city breaks (Chester is perfect for Christmas shopping!).

    The cottage is in a quiet residential area within easy walking distance of the river Dee and Chester city centre. It's a short drive to Chester Zoo and makes a good base for exploring North Wales, the Wirral peninsular and Liverpool.

    Chester is known for its historic walled city centre and beautiful cathedral. Chester zoo is one of the best in Europe.

    Chester is in North West England approximately 25 miles from the M6 motorway. Most guests arrive by car, however, there are good rail links to Chester train station which is a short taxi ride from the house.

    A gem of a place

    The property has a lovely feel to it and has everything you need for your stay.
    There's lots of helpful tips and instructions framed on the wall in appropriate locations.
    The welcome treats are always welcome as are the basic cooking ingredients such as oil, herbs, salt and pepper etc.
    The property is in a quiet location and is very close to Chester centre.
    It's a great property.

    Baker's Cottage, our go-to place

    Baker's cottage is the perfect base for exploring Chester, the Wirral and North Wales . The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped and within easy walking distance of all Chester has to offer - the new Market, the walls, the River Dee, the famous Rows, independent shops and restaurants, and so on. Parking is a bonus.

    Cosy house and a good base

    Despite mostly bad February weather, we had a good time using Baker's Cottage as our base. It was cosy to return to and has all mod cons available. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the likely needs of their visitors and are really efficient with all communications. The house position allows easy walking into the centre of Chester, so we could leave the car safely behind. Handbridge has handy shops for catering and so on. We found it to be a very good base for trips along the North Wales coast as well.
