    Description

    The chalet was built in 2001 - by the carpenter who lives next door! That way we knew we had the tight top quality and luxury. There is far more space than the typical flat, and far more facilities.

    In summer there are endless walks and treks. Mountains, lakes, valleys, there is even one through a nature reserve that starts just behind the chalet. There is a children's zoo, zip-wires, bicycles for hire, and special pathways down the mountains. Cable cars and railways all work in the summer, and there are several swimming pools. We went every year whilst our children were growing up and they never got bored.

    In summer winter having two TVS with all languages in two separate rooms eases the usual family issues!

    There is a garage and a reserved parking space, as well as a large terrace with garden furniture.

    We never take a car in winter, It saves money and hassle. We take the train from Zurich airport to Kloster Dorf station, which is just 5 minutes' walk away. One large ski area is just a five minute walk from the chalet, with a ski school for kids and a shop fro hiring adult and children's equipment. There are also some very good restaurants nearby.

    There is a free bus with the guest cards that stops one minute from the chalet that takes you anywhere in the resort, including the largest food supermarket and the second large ski area.

    Everything about the chalet is modern, luxurious and just being there, looking at the spectacular mountain views, summer or winter, is part of the holiday.

    Location description

    South facing, so sunny and with a huge terrace, the chalet overlooks the whole valley, with mountains in every direction. About two miles away from the main road to Davos, it is just off the road into Klosters, that is never very busy, so quiet. Major ski area, ski school and as well as several restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. A bus stops 50m from the chalet that goes into Klosters Platz and takes 5 minutes to get to the largest supermarket in town.

    The chalet backs onto a nature reserve, with walks through a mountain forest, bike rides and swimming pools nearby.

    Other activities

    Trekking, sailing on the Davosersee. Pools with water slides for the kids. We have been going for 15 years and still find new activities every year! The farm next door produces wonderful cheese, ice cream, etc. and there is a zoo for the children at the top of the mountain in summer, as well as zip wires.

    Local events

    There's always something going on, from vintage car races, fares and tennis championships in summer to ski contests, curling championships and, yes, even pig racing! in winter.

    Tourist attractions

    Klosters has remained a traditional Swiss village and resisted mass development that has hit so many. World famous and visited by Royals repeatedly for winter sports, it is also a wonderful summer destination, with a huge amount for families to do.

    Directions

    We never take a car in winter - saves a lot of time and money! Fly to Zurich, There is a train from under the station. Change trains once and you can get to Klosters Dorf station, 5 minutes' walk from the chalet. Buses are free within Klosters. The journey from Zurich takes just over 90 mins by train or road. There is a motorway to within 20km of the chalet, and then one good road to the resort and chalet. Ask me for more detail and happy to help plan!
