Description of holiday villa in Loro Ciuffenna, Tuscany

The beautiful Villino Blu stands in a panoramic and quiet position on the slopes of Pratomagno in the heart of the Upper Arno Valley, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, and offering a spectacular view of the valley.
Nearby, the ancient Via dei Setteponti curls along a hilly and panoramic route dotted with many small towns rich with history, Roman churches, and medieval hamlets.

Its favorable position in the central area of Tuscany makes it easy to reach the principle Tuscan art cities like Florence (50 km), Siena (60 km), Arezzo (30 km) and Pisa (120 km), both by car and train, as the railway station is only 10 km from Villino Blu.

About two kilometers away is the village of Loro Ciuffenna, where many characteristics of this ancient medieval hamlet have been preserved – like the PIEVE DI SAN PIETRO A GROPINA, an 8th century AD Roman parish church – and where visitors can find typical restaurants and shops, supermarkets, bars, banks and a pharmacy.

The unpaved road leading to Villino Blu is reserved exclusively to guests and the entry to the villa is provided with an automatic gate.

The villa is immersed in a charming garden of approximately 1,500 square meters that is enclosed by hedges, flowers and roses, and equipped with a barbecue, lounges, a 6 x 12 meter pool that is 1.40 meters deep with lateral steps. There are also three covered garages at guests’ disposal.

The villa is nicely furnished, very spacious and comfortable:

ON THE GROUND FLOOR:
A living room with two sofas (one is a queen size sofa bed) and two armchairs, provided with satellite TV, video and DVD player, PlayStation2 and Internet ADSL.
A large kitchen/dining area for up to 12 persons, equipped with refrigerator, freezer, oven, dishwasher and four-burner stove (methane gas); direct access to a patio furnished with tables and chairs for dining outdoors.
Also on this floor is a double bedroom with a bathroom with a shower and washing machine.

ON THE FIRST FLOOR:
The hallway leads to three double bedrooms and one bedroom with bunk bed, where it is possible to add an extra bed.
There is a bathroom with a bathtub, and a bathroom with a shower and a terrace with a panoramic view.


The Pieve di San Pietro a Gropina is the most visited church in the province of Arezzo: a splendid Roman construction with very particular features, splendid capitals, and a unique pulpit that derives from the ancient ruins of a Longobard church lying beneath the pavement.
Its simple sandstone ‘a flaretto’ (in thin layers) façade reflects the motif of the three naves inside. Inside the church, we find a pulpit that is considered the artistic treasure of the Pieve di S.Pietro a Gropina.
The opportunity to admire this unique and particular ancient church, a masterpiece of 8th century AD architecture, where art becomes symbolism and mystery, makes the trip worthwhile. I must add that, during my visits to Tuscany, I have seen many pulpits, but never one like this one. Indeed, there are no others so ancient and peculiarly built with knotted columns. This type of column represents the great mystery of Faith and the Holy Trinity with its three equal but distinct beings: Father and Son are represented by two knotted columns, and the Holy Spirit is symbolized by the knot.

Pool was excellent, owner very friendly and helpful - giving us several gifts, including fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and eggs and even a chocolate cake! He also advised us on parking and driving to Rome. Local town of Ciuffenna had a good range of shops - butchers, bakers, small supermarket, pharmacy. Enjoyed meals in the local restaurants.

Dear Paolo and Annalisa, You have been great hosts, and your regular gifts of fresh eggs, vegetables and ham made us feel even more welcome. The house is perfect for families with or without children, and very secure so the small bambinos can not run away. The standard is impeccable, and you were always available in case of questions, and we, our children and grandchildren loved the place. The only suggestion we have is that you will make (or put on your website) a small booklet with simple information about shops, restaurants etc. in the nearby area, as there are so many fantastic things to see (so we have to come back!!) If the valuation above is meant like a school grade (1 = best grade; 5= worst grade) in all
categories it`s definitely the best grade!!!! There is just one word to describe the
accommodation: PERFECT !!!!!
It is a stunning place to stay. We had a very warm welcome of the owner and if there was any
problem he always was there to solve it (to be honest there were nearly no problems to solve
at all).
The equipment leaves nothing to be desired; above all to have a dishwasher was great.
It was fantastic to stay at Villino Blu and every one of us 12 guests would recommend it to
other friends!

We had a wonderful stay and couldn't have been happier. Villino Blu was as perfect in reality as it was on the website. We were overwhelmed by our host Paolo's generosity and the warm and friendly welcome we received. Our friends who joined us were equally impressed and also loved their stay at Villino Blu / Loro Ciuffenna. The only reason we rated the equipment as 4 (& not 5) was we would have liked a microwave, however, this is extremely minor and did not detract from our stay. We enjoyed our time at Villino Blu so much that we have recently recommended the Villa to some of our Australian friends who will be visiting Tuscany in July 2008 – we hope they take our advice; they won't be disappointed!

Ihr habt ein wunderbares Ferienhaus, was uns aber am meisten berührt hat war eure Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft. Vielen, vielen Dank. Ihr habt uns als Freunde und baldige Wiederbesucher gewonnen. This is a nearly new, large and beautifully maintained house. The surrounding property, including the large pool are private and very attractive...rose bushes in abundance. The property is well located, especially if Cortona, Florence, Chianti, Arezzo, Perugia, Asissi are on your visiting list. Most importantly, the owners are a wonderful couple, extremely kind, helpful and generous. They live in a separate home nearby.

You have easy access to Siena, Florence, Assisi, Pisa, Lucca, Arrezzo and obviously loro Ciufenna. You will not be disappointed if you stay with Paolo at the Vilino Blu..

"Cette location est de très bonne qualité et correspond au descriptif donné. Elle est très propre et d'entretien facile. L'équipement est satisfaisant. Le jardin et la piscine sont très agréables. La piscine est grande et bien entretenue. Elle est bien située, facile d'accès, près d'un très joli village Loro Ciuffenna. L'accès à Sienne, Florence, et aux villages du Chianti est très facile. De belles randonnées pédestres sont possibles autour du village. Les propriétaires sont d'une très grande gentillesse et à l'écoute si l'on rencontre des problèmes."

"Notre visite à la villa de monsieur Paolo va demeurer, pour nous, un souvenir impérissable. Les lieux sont d’une propreté et d’une élégance exemplaire. Rien ne nous a manqué, parfaitement équipée la maison est conçue pour que les espaces de vie soient multiples et invitants. Le vaste aménagement extérieur est parfaitement entretenu et la piscine impeccablement nickel. La localisation de la villa, tout près d’un joli village du Chianti, au cœur de la Toscane et à 60 kilomètre de Florence et d’Arezzo en font un endroit idéal pour visiter la région. Mais, par-dessus tout, c’est la chaleur et la gentillesse de la famille qui nous a tous séduit. On ne compte pas les attentions auxquelles nous avons eu droit. What ajoy!! Our soon Jane and her husband have discovered "Villino Blu" in intenet under the
link " Rent Houses in Tuscany ".

We turn back in England unwilling because we have had so much fun with us, and this holiday was
so perfect.

We stay very well in your Villino Blu , in Arezzo. We send you our congratulations' for your
beautiful Villino Blu. Your house it’s very big and roomy for give hospitality for 11 guests; the
quality ofthe furnishing it’s very luxurious, very comfortable , clean like a mirror, and the rooms
are very wide.
I think that’s the best accommodation in the zone.

For us Tuscany it’s the most enchanting region ofltaly, and it’s sure that Villino Blu is very
popular .

Thursday the day of our arrival; we wake up in the early morning to go at the airport to fly till Pisa
then rent a car and driving till Villino Blu, when we arrive we where very tired.

We grateful of your hospitality and to give us wine, oil, ham, fruit and vegetables; this was a
wonderful welcome.

We thank you for your kindness and we hope that in the future we can came back.

How to reach Villino Blu

Exit at ‘Valdarno’ of the Autosole A1 Milan-Rome Highway: COMING FROM EITHER MILAN OR BOLOGNA (e.g. FROM THE NORTH), TAKE THE SECOND EXIT AFTER ‘FIRENZE SUD’; COMING FROM ROME (e.g. FROM THE SOUTH), TAKE THE FIRST EXIT AFTER ‘AREZZO’. Turn right and follow the signs for Terranuova Bracciolini, then for Penna and after that for Loro Ciuffenna (about 8 km from ‘Valdarno’ exit). After having passed the village of Penna, you will find a long straight street (approx. 2 km), at the end of which is a roundabout. Turn right and enter into the village of Loro Ciuffenna: turn left in the direction of Castelfranco di Sopra and, after about 2 km, on the right you will find the sign to Villino Blu (turn right) after approximately 300 meters.
