The three bedroom apartment “Azalea” (in Autumn and Winter only one-bedroom) is situated in Griante-Cadenabbia. A little urban agglomerate founded by the Celts in the 500 bc, a residential area in the centre and on the shores of Lake Como near Hotel Brittania Excelsior and Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, public swimming pool 'Lido di Cadenabbia', Teresa Heinz and John Kerry's Villa Maresi. John Kerry, United States Democrat Senator for Massachusetts, nominated Secretary of State by Barack Obama. All areas are frequented by stylists and famous American and English actors, such as George Clooney, George Lucas, Richard Branson, Robert Pattinson and russian businessmen such as Arkadij Novikov, Villa Fontanelle's owner at Moltrasio.
Recently restructured it provides of 2/5 (3 adults or 2 adults more 3 children) bed places with transformable sofa; it has a spectacular lake view on Villa Melzi in Bellagio and the Alps toward Varenna.
It provides satellite on flat screen TV with international SKY channels (such as Chris Wallace's Fox News, Sky News, Bloomberg TV, CNBC, BBC World, Al Jazeera, Al Arabja, Fox Business, France 24, Tve Internacional, TeleSur) free and speed internet access and WI FI connection, CD player with endowment of classical and jazz music, bathroom with playpen shower, stove heated by “pellet” for winter stays and private parking very close to the apartment.
Elegant, comfortable and proper for relaxing stay, together with an explosive vegetation and beautiful flowers. Sports facilities nearby, such as tennis court, golf clubs or the possibility to do water-skiing or surfing.
It is strategically positioned for excursions in the mountains to walk along the lake and do trips to Lugano (CH - 1 hour by car distance), to Saint Moritz on the Swiss Alps 2 hours by car distance and to Como (city of the silk) at 40 minutes.
It is 40 kms far from International Malpensa Airport.

Location description
Griante Cadenabbia, Lake Como.
A fragrant blend of art, relaxation and culture. Contemplation reigns here. A green and blue strip of water and lush vegetation in the shape of a forked tongue, Lake Como looks south towards the industrial heart of Northern Italy and Milan, its financial capital, and north to the almost always snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps of the Engadin in the Grisons Canton.
The area around the lake offers excellent tourist hospitality, especially in the central part known as “Tremezzina” or the “Riviera of the Azaleas” for the multicoloured blossoms that burst into flower at the beginning of spring.. Together with Cernobbio and Bellagio, it is in Griante Cadenabbia, one of the queens of the lake and a prestigious international tourist destination with its excellent hotels and the more familiar, intimate and exclusive residences scattered throughout the area, that beautiful geometric plantings forming elegant gardens and inspiring hymns to contemplation can be found.
Cadenabbia lies on the shore opposite Bellagio. Visited in the past by famous personalities such as Giuseppe Verdi and Konrad Adenauer, the German Chancellor, who regularly holidayed here at Villa La Collina, in the far off 19th century, Griante Cadenabbia also charmed the American writer, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who wrote: Cadenabbia I ask myself, Is this a dream? Will it all vanish into air? Is there a land of such supreme And perfect beauty anywhere?
Today, tourists from all over the world, Australians, Americans, North Europeans, Russians, Swiss and Canadians, and even some from the Arab Emirates, animate its lakeside, wander through the ancient village and climb up to the Sanctuary of San Martino perched high above. All on a voyage of discovery of an area made enchanting by colourful gardens, spectacular parks and sumptuous historic villas, full of the harmonious sounds of nature interrupted only by solemn, enveloping silence. The beauty of the landscape has been preserved with complete respect for the environment. This is at the heart of its attraction.
From Griante we start out on an imaginary tour to discover Villa Carlotta, Villa La Collina, United States Democratic Senator (currently Secretary of State) from Massachussets John Kerry's Villa Maresi, Villa Melzi in Bellagio and Villa del Balbianello in Lenno, owned by the FAI, the Italian National Trust. The latter was the location for George Lucas’s film “Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones”. Directions
Arriving to every Airport you can take Milano Chiasso (A9) Motorway with exit to "Lago di Como", immediately before Swisse border.
After follow the road for Menaggio and travelling about 35 minutes you are arriving to Griante Lakeshores. Consider Hotel Brittannia Excelssior and turn on the left behind that.
