    Description

    The villa is in a quiet location just a minute or two from the sea and has lovely views over Binissafuller bay. With its large well stocked garden and private pool, its sunbathing patios and shady areas, it's a perfect place to relax. We provide a good starter pack of food and drink for your arrival so you don't have to worry about going to the supermarket straightaway. The villa was comprehensively refurbished during winter/spring 2017. It now has a new much bigger kitchen, a 5th bedroom, three brand new bathrooms as well as a huge new pergola providing a beautiful, shady eating area on the patio outside the kitchen.

    The modern well-equipped kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, cooker/oven, microwave, dishwasher and water purifier. The sitting room has a flat screen TV with all UK terrestrial channels. In addition there is free fibre optic wifi internet access throughout the villa and a bluetooth speaker. The 5 bedrooms all have air-conditioning (night time use only) as well as fans.There is a choice of dining areas, under the large pergola outside the kitchen, under the pergola by the pool or next to the BBQ in the garden. There is an outdoor ping pong table for the more energetic.

    Unlike many of the more modern developments there is ample shade available at different times of day be it in the main outside dining area or under the pergola next to the pool or in one of 2 hammocks under the trees.

    The nearby rock pools provide brilliant snorkeling in turquoise water and the pretty family beach of Binissafuller is just 15 minutes walk. There is a fish and tapas bar on the sea front just two minutes walk away.

    There are a number of restaurants in nearby Binibeca as well as two small supermarkets for basics. In and around Sant Lluis (10 minutes drive) there are a number of good supermarkets as well as some excellent restaurants.

    We, the owners are usually in residence nearby and so can be called on for any help or advice as and when needed. We have many years experience and knowledge of the island and are only too happy to offer our guests hints about what to see and do on this beautiful island!

    Location description

    The villa has beautiful views over Binissafuller bay and is just minutes from the sea. It is on a quiet residential road in a coastal hamlet that has been established for many years and where the houses tend to have large gardens with a lot of mature trees and plants. It is convenient in terms of local facilities - shops, restaurants etc without being part of a major tourist development. We recommend to all our guests that they hire a car as the island has so many beautiful beaches, towns and countryside to explore.

    Other activities

    Many companies in Mahon's magnificent harbour offer various boating options form yacht and launch hire by the day to shorter sightseeing trips on glass bottom boats. Kayaks can be hired in Es Grau, 30 minutes drive from the villa. Breathtaking coastal walks can be found along the bridle path which circumnavigates the island. Horse riding is also provided near Fornells. The island boasts a huge number of unspoilt beaches as well as historic towns and archeological remains. The local dairy industry provides a good range of delicious cheeses while the leather factories produce a wide range of the now internationally known 'abarca' sandals.

    Local events

    Local fiestas with traditional music and the parading of magnificent (mainly) black horses, take place on a rolling basis in different towns at weekends from late June to mid September.

    Tourist attractions

    Both Ciudadela (once the capital when the island was under French rule) and Mahon are fine historic towns with well preserved traditional architecture and a number of impressive churches.

    The villa is 20 minutes drive from the airport and the ferry terminal in Mahon. Detailed directions as well as a list of recommended car hire companies are sent to customers when booking.

    BEAUTIFUL VILLA IN GREAT LOCATION

    The photographs actually do not do this lovely villa justice. There is so much space - both indoor and out, natural light and it is fantastically equipped. Having stayed in villas across Europe for the past 12 years, I can certainly say that this one did NOT disappoint. There was always hot water at any time of the day - can be something lacking in many villas. We were greeted by David upon our arrival and shown around, as well as him providing essential local information. The villa is literally a 5 minute max walk to the rocky shore, 15 minutes to a lovely cove and about the same in to the small town.
    The view from the kitchen window was lovely and probably made me spend more time there than I should have when on holiday!
    We travelled out and about throughout our holiday and saw many beautiful places - I will not bore you with a list of these, but I would urge anyone to take the time to travel around this lovely island.
    David and Penny are the perfect hosts - they live very close by which is convenient if you need advice or have any issues, but leave you to enjoy your holiday. I most certainly hope to return to this lovely home and thank David and Penny for their hospitality.

    Deposit/Booking Notes

    Letting season is from end May to early October. Rates shown are for up to 8 people. For large parties of 9 or 10 people there is a surcharge of 140 per week/20 per night. For small parties of 4 people or fewer there is a discount of 140 per week. Holidays can start any day of the week according to availability. Minimum stay is 5 Days at each end of the season. 7 days mid season and in peak season it is 10 days minimum.
