    This traditional cortijo, which has been renovated imaginatively in a rustic style, sits high in the mountains in a stunning rural location with open views to Lake Vinuela, the Sierra Tejeda and the Med. Yet it is only 1 hour from Malaga airport and half an hour to the coast.

    Casa Belmonte homes a fabulous 9mx4m private, salt water pool with a large sunbathing area, a shaded outdoor dining area & built in BBQ.
    This cool, light, spacious property has 5 double bedrooms ( all with air conditioning )and 3 lovely shower rooms. There is a large family kitchen/diner and a huge lounge with satellite TV and lake views.

    The mature gardens and many terraces that surround casa belmonte offer special places to relax and unwind in or out of the sun - one thing guests always comment on is how many areas there are to sit and stare at the views!
    Play table tennis, darts or boules - fun for all ages!

    The 2 closest villages are Periana or Alcaucin - both 10 mins away by car through gorgeous countryside and both have friendly bars and small locally run supermarkets.
    If you like being at one with nature this is the place for you. Bee eaters and Hoopoes are frequent visitors along with chameleons and other lizards and birds of prey.
    Our two cats live at the property, outside. Pitta and Patta.

    Location description

    Being situated on the Malaga/Granada border casa belmonte is the perfect location for day trips to Andalucia's historical sites - like the cities of Granada where the Alhambra Palace is a must see, Cordoba city & Malaga itself which now has a beautiful new port area and a fabulous food market along with great tapas bars & architecture.

    Closer by there are gorgeous Andalucian white villages where hours can be passed sipping on rioja and enjoying a slower pace of life.

    Other activities

    Horse riding is especially popular in the Axarquia area - if you are interested let us know and we will put you in touch with friends of ours who have 21 horses and take guests out for day or half day treks.All abilities catered for.

    Casa Belmonte is half an hour east on the coastal motorway from Malaga airport & then half an hour inland. A car is essential because of the rural location.
