Description
Moonlight Villa offers a good flow to the inside accommodation with a large outside terrace space. There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor one with a large double en-suite, with good views and one with twin beds with a enjoining en-suite. The master en-suite bedroom is on the first floor with a large balcony with very good mountain and sea views.The ground floor is all on one level making access very easy.It has a great roof terrace with comfortable seating, which is great for drinks under the stars. The Ground floor has an open plan living area leading on to a large terrace area giving a real sense of space with good shaded cover for alfresco eating and a large private pool for cooling off in, which is cleaned each day. The villa is fully air-conditioned making it very comfortable at the hottest times of the year. The villa is fully managed with a linen change and a clean once a week, taking care of the domestics leaving you time to enjoy your holiday.

Location description
Easy Jet from the south of England tend to have the best choice of flight times and prices. Jet2 is also a good provider in the UK.
There is a local bus station about 10 minutes walk from the villa providing access to many places near and farther away from Kalkan. There are quite a few tour companies operating out of Kalkan and our local manager can help you with any trips you may wish to go on.

Two weeks back in the UK and we are all still smiling about the truly wonderful holiday we had in Kalkan! Thought it was about time I wrote a review of Villa Moonlight as it was the most significant contributory factor in making our holiday so relaxing. This was the holiday we thought would never happen due to the coronavirus pandemic, but we are so glad we took the risk (more on that later).
Nicola, the owner, was fantastic during the booking process being very responsive, understanding and attentive to our every concern and request. Booking a villa is always a worrying process as there is that fear of the unknown and potential risks. Through direct contact and dialogue with Nicola we felt assured that this villa was a good choice for us.
Villa Moonlight is a fantastic villa for a relaxing family holiday being close enough to all the shops and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. There is a wonderful flow to the villa with two bedrooms on the ground floor and the master on the first floor. You get that feeling of space and for us with two teenage daughters that all important personal space and separation for when you just want to do those things teenage daughters do. Speaking of which the Wifi is excellent throughout the property. All rooms are air conditioned and very quickly cool down which is a blessed relief on those super hot days. The beds are extremely comfortable, so we all slept exceptionally well.
Ifran is the man who comes around to the villa each and every day to tend to the pool and gardens. What a lovely, helpful fella he is! He brought us freshly baked bread every day and provided us with lots of useful local knowledge. This is one of his jobs. His other voluntary job is animal whisperer of Kalkan. He diligently looks after the local cats and dogs providing them with food, love and veterinary care. In return the animals of Kalkan love him back and share the love with the guests of the villa. In our case the girls fell in love with a 2 month old kitten who they named Felix who spent most days playing and relaxing with us.
The pool is just perfect. It is a great size and even on the hottest days it remains a perfect temperature for cooling down or simply floating about on a lilo. There is a huge amount of patio space around the pool with plenty of sun loungers and parasols so no issues at all with getting the required sun or shade. We ate lunch most days around the patio dining table which is under cover thus providing a respite from the sun and heat. The roof terrace is graced with comfortable seating and blessed with the most stunning views of Kalkan and the surrounding hills. Relaxing with a drink here after the heat of the day either at sun set or late at night is a must and most good for the soul.
Clearly in August the heat is such that actually doing anything that involves exercise is quite simply unbearable. Luckily this is something you just dont have to worry about as your every need is catered for. Karyn from Azura homes (they look after the property) provided us with an excellent home shopping service whereby we would WhatsApp her a shopping list and she would arrange a local super market to deliver direct to the villa. In addition to this she also would arrange for the bottled water to be topped up when required (19 litre bottle which would last 2 to 3 days). Too hot to walk into town? Not a problem. Most of the local taxi firms will provide you with a WhatsApp contact number and will be at your service in a matter of minutes. Taxi into town is about 2. All of this made our holiday one of the most relaxing holidays ever!
Kalkan is such a beautiful town. You have modern and traditional all in one place with bags of character and the most friendly and helpful people you could ever want to meet. This is our second holiday here and we will definitely return. There is a huge choice of shops and restaurants. The food is exceptional and very good value for money. Highlights for us were Akin, Gourmet, Blue Terrace and Chameleon but quite honestly, we did not have a bad meal in our two week holiday and we ate out every night.
The only downside was at the end of two weeks we had to come home which was made so hard by the simply wonderful villa, lovely locals and beautiful Kalkan. We thoroughly recommend Villa Moonlight.
Covid-19 Footnote
August 2020 We were very apprehensive about traveling and staying in Turkey. Whilst wearing a face mask in the airport, airplane and on the transfer to Kalkan was a pain it was bearable. In Kalkan there were all the correct levels of protection and prevention that you would expect. Hand sanitisers were widely available. All waiters and waitresses wore face masks and adhered to exceptional hygiene standards. Face masks were compulsory in all shops. Quite frankly we all felt safer in Kalkan than in the UK.
