    Description

    Villa Paramelle is situated in a quiet area on a hillside just off the Kalamar Road, with breathtaking, uninterrupted sea & mountain views; unobstructed from all three floors. It's an easy 10-15 minute walk to the old town centre & harbour & beach, & only 5 minutes to some quiet bars, cafes & restaurants. The private infinity pool provides the perfect place to cool off, or enjoy the south facing terrace for relaxing in the sun or enjoying alfresco dining, reading under the shade of the large umbrellas or lying in the roomy hammock in the tropical gardens. Relax in the shade of the Ottoman seating area during the day, a traditional Turkish köşk where you can also sit of an evening & enjoy a drink.

    Living Space
    Our villa is perfect for up to four people, the living space is practical & tastefully furnished to a high standard, equally divided over three floors. The floors are tiled throughout & the staircases are marble. The main living area on the ground floor is a spacious open plan design with lounges, dining area & kitchen, all with sea views. The lounge area includes an open fireplace, flat screen DVD player & a selection of DVDs, iPod dock & speakers, handmade wrought iron sofas with large cushions, & an iron & marble coffee table. The dining area has a wrought iron table with a glass top & four chairs with cushioned seating. There is a large solid wood dresser with a huge selection of books & games for your enjoyment.

    The Italian kitchen has a beautiful high gloss façade with traditional Turkish handmade wall tiles. The small appliances (toaster, kettle, blender, juicer) are chrome & the sink is stainless steel; clean & contemporary. Appliances include stainless steel oven, gas hob & extractor hood, fitted dishwasher & large fridge with separate freezer compartment. Additionally, a washing machine is situated on the second floor/roof terrace level with provision for clothes drying. There is a downstairs cloakroom with toilet & wash basin. Three sets of French doors lead out onto the terrace & pool area from the living room.

    Bedrooms
    Upstairs on the first floor, the bedrooms have stunning sea views & both are en-suite with shower, washbasin & toilet. The bathrooms have good quality contemporary fittings. Bath towels & bed linen are provided for your stay, as well as pool towels.

    The master bedroom has panoramic 180° sea views via the 3 large bay windows, & a door leading onto its own balcony with a small table & chair. It has a king size (1.8m) handmade wrought iron bed. There is also a full length mirror. All of the mattresses are good quality & extremely comfortable.

    The second bedroom is a twin room (2 x 90cm wrought iron beds that can be used together as a double if required) with doors leading onto a balcony, again with fabulous views over the bays, & a small table and chair. Each room has matching bedroom suites including solid wood wardrobes, chest of drawers with mirrors, & bedside cabinets with side lights, & hair-dryers.

    From the first floor, stairs lead up to the second floor (where the washing machine is situated), & roof terrace. The property is decorated throughout in natural colours, & is very light and airy. The property is air-conditioned, & all windows are double glazed & fitted with mosquito netting. There is free wi-fi internet in the villa, & a small safe, as well as an alarm system fitted. There is private off-street parking as well.

    Outside Space
    The outside space includes gardens, sun terrace, pool & roof terrace, all with open sea views - 180° from Kalkan harbour & across to Kalamar bay, with the Taurus Mountains to the side. Landscaped gardens of Mediterranean palms, lavender, oleander, olive trees, frangipani & bougainvillea - & the occasional wild tortoise. There is also a traditional Turkisk köşk, a wonderful seating area for relaxing or having a meal outside by candlelight, also a large roof terrace, with a shaded pergola & screening, with a table & chairs for those in need of a little extra outside, particularly lovely at the end of the day to sit with a drink & watch the sun go down & the lights of Kalkan come on.

    The south facing sun terrace allows you to enjoy the views out over the Mediterranean & is the perfect place for your alfresco dining & barbecues. Outside furniture includes a teak table & six chairs with two umbrellas, four sun loungers with cushions & side tables, & a traditional Turkish stone barbecue. There are also beanbags for you to sit in the shaded areas if you want a break from the sun, & a large hammock under the tree!

    The villa is managed by English speaking agents based in Kalkan, who will be available to help or answer any questions you might have during your stay. They have worked in holiday villa management in Kalkan Turkey for many years & are very friendly, helpful & knowledgable. The pool is serviced on a daily basis, & the garden watered as well. Clean linen, bathroom & pool towels are provided for your stay, as well as a Welcome Pack.

    Location description

    Kalkan is a small Mediterranean fishing town on the beautiful south western Turquoise Coast of Turkey & unlike many of its famous neighbours, it has not been ruined by mass tourism & remains an unspoilt yet sophisticated resort. The town sits at the base of the Taurus Mountains as they dramatically reach the sea. The views are breathtaking of sea & mountains alike. Kalkan itself is very pretty with original Ottoman structures, tiny painted villas & cobbled narrow streets. The old town is a protected site, ensuring that it maintains the old architecture & beauty of the Ottoman times. Although there is nightlife, it is more on the quiet side, with an array of restaurants, bars & cafes, with something to suit all tastes & budgets. The sea is crystal clear & safe to swim in. Close by is the harbour & small marina, which is a lovely place to sit & sip an aperitif after an afternoon on the beach. Turkish people are very friendly, so a warm welcome awaits the visitor.

    Visit archaeological ruins at Patara, Xanthos, Letoon or Tlos. Walk the Lycian Way. Eat at trout farms & restaurants in Islamlar nearby. Swim at the wonderful beaches of Patara or Kaputas. Barter at village markets in Kas, Kinik, or Fethiye. And visit the spectacular Saklikent Gorge; go on a jeep safari, or ringo ride down the river, then onto dine at Yakapark in a tree platform in the shade. Daily boat cruises around the islands, swim in deserted coves & lunch onboard. Lots of water sports, sea kayaking, canyoning, paragliding, & diving. Numerous beach clubs.
