Apartment MICHELANGELO in VILLA CAFAGGIOLO
2 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - up to 6 persons
The apartment sets over 2 levels, the total surface is 120 square metres: it is large and elegant.
It sleeps up to 6 persons (2 double beds + 2 single beds) in 2 big, comfortable bedrooms.
The apartment is completely independent (private entrance).
The living room and the kitchen have direct access to the private patio-loggia and private garden.
The staircase that links the ground floor to the first floor is large and comfortable (with a safe rail hand); the steps are made by stone and covered by wood.
Furniture is antique, elegant and carefully selected with pictures and ornaments.
Walls are decorated with ancient maps, photos and engravings that represent Florence monuments and Tuscany landscapes.
Besides, the rooms are decorated with several handmade cross stitching, created by Paola; there is really a warm and homelike atmosphere!!!
The apartment has thick stone walls, beamed ceilings, terracotta floors; the temperature inside is always cool (night and day) even when outside is quite hot.
The GROUND FLOOR consists of: 1 large living room + 1 kitchen + 1 bathroom.
- Living room has a comfortable couch-sofa and armchairs situated around the ancient, original, big 18° century working fireplace.
Also available in the living room: NEW 32” Flat Screen TV and WI-FI internet modem.
The room has 2 windows and a large door with direct access to the patio-loggia and the garden.
- Kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffeemaker, kettle, toaster and many, many cooking utensils (pots, pans, bowls, dishes, glasses, cutlery…).
It is really charming and characteristic with the authentic 18° century terracotta floor and a collection of ancient-old cooking utensils.
The kitchen opens onto the private patio-loggia and the garden.
- Bathroom has white Italian tiles, large shower, basin/sink, toilet and towels.
The FIRST FLOOR consists of: 2 double bedrooms + 1 bathroom
- Bedroom “1” has 1 double bed (Queen size) and 1 single bed.
Furniture includes antique wooden beds, an elegant wardrobe and an authentic 18° century chest of drawers (originally owned by Nonna Gina, our great-great-great grandmother), bedside tables...
There are 2 windows (with mosquitos screens) with panoramic views over the garden and the swimming pool.
Stone walls and yellow ocher plastered walls create a authentic Tuscany atmosphere!
- Bedroom “2” has 1 double bed (Queen size) and 1 single bed.
Furniture includes antique wooden beds, wardrobe, bedside tables...
The window (with mosquitos screen) offers panoramic views over the garden and the pool.
Walls are made by stone or painted in light pink color.
All the beds are made up with crisp fresh linen (high thread 100% cotton); the bath towels are also 100% good quality cotton. We supply linens and towels at no cost; they are included in the rental price (weekly changes). Mattresses are almost new, hence you’ll have a restful sleep!!!
- Bathroom has blue Italian tiles and a window overlooking the swimmingpool. It is equipped with bathtub and shower, twin basins/sinks, bidet, toilet, hairdryer, towels.
The GARDEN
The garden is about 200 square metres large. It is completely private (only for you!!!), it is completely fenced (safe for your children!!!) and quite shaded by mature trees.
The garden is composed by the covered patio-loggia (just in front of the living room and the kitchen) and a manicured lawn planted with flowers, aromatics, hedges of bay trees and cypresses.
A BBQ and a dining table with chairs (seats 6-8 persons) are at your disposal for Al Fresco Dining.
The apartment is fully equipped with:
WIFI internet access, Air Conditioning, NEW 32” Flat Screen TV, working fireplace, independent heating, washing machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, linens, towels and blankets, private barbeque in the private garden, outside garden furniture.
All the kitchens on the apartments are fully equipped with:
stove, oven, fridge, freezer, coffeemaker, boiler, toaster, dishes, lots of pots and pans, several cutleries.

Our apartment, Michelangelo, was immaculate with everything necessary for a home-away-from-home vacation. The Pucci family are such lovely people and always available to look after any request or answer any questions. With their help, our daily tours of the Tuscan area were made very easy and on their recommendations, we saw so much of their beautiful countryside (which I can only describe as "breathtaking"!).

Location description
• Villa Cafaggiolo is very close to Florence... only 12 km South-East, means 15/20 minutes by car.
A large and comfortable road will lead you from the bustle of the City to the tranquillity of the Florentine hills. You’ll drive in the Chianti area, through the countryside, along the Arno river; left and right you’ll spot castles, farmhouses, old churches, vineyards olive groves… all the features of Classic Tuscany landscape.
• Access to Villa Cafaggiolo is by a private road. You will never hear the sounds of traffic (day or night) during your stay. The Villa is immersed in silence; our guests love falling asleep to the sounds of nature. This location is ideal for those wishing to visit Florence and all its glories, while at the same time experiencing the quiet and tranquility of a rural setting away from the noise of the city.
• The small village of Rosano is 1 Km from the Villa Cafaggiolo.
Here you’ll find the famous “Bottega di Rosano”… a grocery plenty of delicious food (cold meats, cheeses, olives, bread) and good wines…; you can get a quick panino (sandwich) or have a sit down meal with bistecca alla fiorentina. From the Villa, you can easily walk up to here in about 10/15 minutes.
• The quite big village of Pontassieve is 2 Km from the Villa.
It is an attractive medieval town where you will find any kind of shops, supermarkets, banks, several very good restaurants and a shopping center.
In Pontassieve there is a rail station; there is frequent train service to the center of Florence. The train takes about 20 minutes and is an easy way to travel for those who do not wish to take their car into the city. It is easy to park at the rail station.

"I have stayed at Villa Cafaggiolo several times in the past 4 years. It is a beautiful property, perfectly situated on a commuter train line 20 minutes East of Florence. The property itself is very picturesque with all of the buildings done in Tuscan farm style. There is a lovely swimming pool and a rose garden. But what makes the experience of visiting Cafaggiolo so memorable is the warmth and friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, the Pucci family. They are always ready with a recommendation of where to eat, what to see, where to get the best gelato in Florence,etc. They truly treat the guests as if they are family, and many guests are repeat customers.
