    Description

    Less than 5 mins walk, on proper pavements with streetlighting, to restaurants(including Moorish and Traditional Spanish), bars, supermarkets and pharmacy, but completely private sitting in 2000 square metres of land. Walking distance to 2 other villages with restaurants, shops, bars and banks. The bustling town of Competa is 10 minutes drive away. The beautiful beaches of Nerja, Torre del Mar and Algarrobo are within 20-25 mins drive. The house is accessed by tarmac road, so no need to rent a 4x4 vehicle.

    The house is well equipped and furnished and is maintained by a local British couple. We have comfortable beds made up with egyptian cotton bedlinen, with throws for the summer and duvets for the colder months. Probably the thing that our regular guests love most about our property is our beautiful garden with its abundance of flowering shrubs, fruit trees and almond trees etc. We have a large, covered, arched porch at the front of the house which is comfortably furnished for those who wish to enjoy the shade. For the sun worshippers, our sunlounger cushions are specially made from mattress foam, by a local upholsterer to ensure comfort at the poolside.

    The property is light and airy in the summer but cosy in the winter with a wood burning stove and aircon. Archez is a 1 hour drive from Malaga airport and 1.5 hours to Granada and 2.5 hours to Seville. The villages of Canillas de Albaida and Corumbella are within walking distance. The resorts of Nerja and Torre del Mar are half an hour away. Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is 2 hours drive and there are two 18 hole golf courses within easy drive.

    Tourist attractions

    There is a popular water park in Velez Malaga (open from June-September) The stunning Alhambra Palace in Granada is about 90 minutes drive from our property. Online booking for The Alhambra Palace is highly recommended. There are a number of historic Mudejar Towers in the area, including one in our village.

    Directions

    Most of our guests arrive at Malaga Airport but we have had guests arrive at Granada Airport, Seville Airport and even Madrid. Some of our guests choose to book a car online from many of the car rental companies operating from the Spanish airports, but an increasing number have airport transfers from Maria, our local taxi driver, to enjoy a car free holiday. There is a 3 times daily bus service from Malaga City to Competa which a small number of our guests have used. Comprehensive driving directions from Mlaga Airport will be emailed to guests prior to their stay.

    Our bathroom was completely renovated in 2015 and has the above items, plus a heated towel radiator, under basin storage cabinets and hairdryer.

    We had IPTV installed in 2014. It has a wide range of UK Channels including BBC and ITV.

    We have a wide range of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans utensils etc. We have a cafetiere and 2 stove top coffee makers.
    Outdoors: Swimming Pool, BBQ, Private garden, Terrace, Sunloungers, Patio table, Patio chairs, Sunshade
    All of our outside shading is built as opposed to being portable. We have shaded areas built at the pool area, the barbeque area and also a huge shaded porch.
    Access: Car not essential
    We have on road parking outside the house. If you want to visit places like the Alhambra etc, you would probably want to have a car but if you just want to enjoy the pool and garden and visit the local restaurants etc we can arrange airport transfers for you.
    Services: Linen provided, Towels provided, Cleaning included, Laundry included
    The beds will be made up with egyptian cotton bedlinen for your arrival. If you are staying for two weeks, a change of bedlinen will be provided for your second week. Our bedlinen and towels are professionally laundered by a local company and our property managers will deal with this.

    Deposit/Booking Notes

    During June, July, August and September our changeover day is a Saturday but we can be flexible in other months dependant on other bookings. From November to May we offer short breaks of 4 nights or more. The cost of 4 nights in this period is 484.00. We also offer 28 night rentals from November to the end of March, the cost of 28 night rentals in this period is 1950.00 For the avoidance of embarassment on the part of potential guests and the owners, the rental price of our property is not open to negotiation.Any special offers that may be available will be advertised on the site. A discount of 50 is given to 2 people making a 2 week booking and sharing one bedroom in the peak season (July and August) A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before commencement of your holiday, no money will be refunded if you should cancel your holiday, therefore we strongly recommend that you purchase appropriate travel insurance. A 150 Security and Good Housekeeping deposit is required along with your balance payment. This will be refunded to you if our property is left clean and undamaged. We have been renting our property for a number of years through this and other sites and have never had to retain a guests security deposit. We can accept payment by bank transfer or by paypal, please add 4% for paypal payments to cover the paypal fees. We are unable to accept cash payments. All guests at our property are required to provide their name, nationality and passport numbers for registration with the Guardia Civil
