Our stay with villa Sungai was phenomenal!
This stunning luxury villa has an incredibly tranquil jungle location, yet provides all the creature comforts and modern amenities of a luxury 5 star establishment.
The villa itself is light, bight and spacious. The infinity pool overlooks a nearby river and is surrounded by lush jungle. The food is incredible, the beds are extremely comfortable, showers have great pressure and wifi works fast.
Now that I have covered the basics, I need to give a mention to Villa Sungai's incredible staff. Made and his team were so kind and attentive. They went out of their way to make our stay special and make us feel at home. Made took us for a walk around the village, through the rice fields and gave us an insight to local Bali life. It was an incredibly special experience.

"One Of The Most Amazing Places I Have Ever Stayed At!"
My husband and I recently stayed at Sungai Jungle Villas in “Jungle Villa II”. This honestly has to be one of the most amazing places I have ever seen let alone stayed at! But more importantly I was just blown away by the incredible service that we received literally from the moment we landed in Bali. The minute we stepped off the plane we were greeted by a friendly man who took us through the airport & helped us with each process before then taking us to our driver. When we got in the car we met the lovely Made who provided us with bottled water, peanuts & a cold towel. This was awesome because we were hot & hungry! When we arrived at Villa Sungai we were then greeted by all of the staff who introduced themselves. We were then taken into our villa and given a little tour of the place. I thought I had stepped into heaven! The rooms are so spacious with such beautiful furnishings, each room comes with a four poster bed & a walk in dressing room! Plus a large bathroom, with a bath & beautiful outdoor shower. There was traditional Balinese music playing on an iPod in each room which I thought was a nice touch. There is an outdoor, undercover dining pavilion with a gorgeous long wooden dining table where we were served breakfast, lunch & dinner each day. The food was another major highlight at Villa Sungai. The staff bring the freshly prepared meals to your villa for each breakfast, lunch & dinner. Every meal we had was delicious and of restaurant quality. They also would ask us if we would like afternoon tea, snacks etc. We never went hungry! There is also a large outdoor pool which was so nice & relaxing to swim in & the views from the villa are just amazing. It is perched high above a river surrounded by beautiful luscious green trees. Every day waking up & stepping out into that view was just breathtaking. While we were there I had a Signature massage which was set up with a massage bed in one of the rooms of our villa. It was so nice & relaxing, I loved it. We actually didn’t leave the villa the whole time we stayed there because you just don’t need too when you have everything you need there! The only one time we did leave was to take a walk through the village, and it was so lovely surrounded by trees and rice paddies. It is a really nice quiet area, very relaxing and enjoyable. I really can’t fault this villa, every aspect I found to be amazing & I can not wait to come back to this villa one day. Thank you so much to Pamela, Made, Putu and all of the other staff!

An incredibly intimate, relaxing stay in the quiet of Bali. Stayed over the weekend for two nights with my partner & can easily say the best hotel/resort experience we have ever had. Dear Pamela,
I just wanted to let you know how much we loved staying at Sungai Jungle Villas. We had a wonderful time and spent a lot of time pinching ourselves... we couldn't believe we were there. It was really amazing. Thank you for letting us spread and use the whole place. We used that last day to truly relax and enjoy the villas. We couldn't believe that we had arrived at such a culturally significant time and we soaked it up. We really felt that we experienced Bali in all the best ways from Sungai. Driving, cycling and walking gave us a great chance to see different sides to Bali and to get off the tourist track.
The villas were incredible and the staff were amazing. We enjoyed the food and drinks, in particular we fell in love with the ginger Margaritas. Your staff made us feel relaxed and helped with everything that we needed. We really felt pampered and loved the massages and facials... I could go on and on and so could all the girls. Will definitely leave you a review soon.
We all really hope to return in the near future.

Sungai Jungle Villas - a Balinese paradise!
From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived at Villa Sungai it was clear we were in for a five-star experience. Nestled in a jungle forest near a small country village, Villa Sungai really is a Balinese treasure to be discovered.
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Made and his wonderful team before being whisked away to our Villa, Jungle House II. The villa was stunning – white painted with thatched roofing, signature gold-painted walls and features, an infinity pool with luxury loungers, and a beautiful outdoor day bed. The interior of the villa was no less stunning featuring an oversized four-poster bed, stylish furnishings, a large bathroom with his and hers sinks, a freestanding tub and a rustic outdoor shower. The villa also included a sizable walk-in closet with plenty of space for storage. Its floor to ceiling mirrors also made it the perfect spot for getting ready. Little touches such as lanterns placed throughout the villa which were lit each evening, gave it a magically romantic feel.
Shortly after our tour we were presented with a delicious welcome cocktail (vodka, lime juice, palm sugar and soda), and a welcome snack of freshly baked scones (YUM!). Made gave us some time to unwind and take in the villa before explaining some of the finer details. Throughout our stay Made and his team were truly excellent, discrete yet always on hand and happy to assist us with anything we required.
Whilst there are so many wonderful aspects of Villa Sungai (I could go on and on!), the element which made it a VIP experience for us, and why in my mind it is a cut above the many other elite hotels on the island, is the extent of the personal service you receive of as a guest, and the flexibility which that allows. We were able to choose all of our daily meals from a wonderful menu which featured a variety of dishes, to be served at times of our choosing. All ingredients were purchased locally and freshly cooked each day by the villa chefs. The quality and presentation of the food we thought was impeccable - it really was a fine-dining experience.
I would highly recommend Villa Sungai to anyone looking to escape the city mayhem (as we did!) to unwind and be pampered in a real-life Balinese paradise.

I would define our first villa experience as unique, magical and of course, luxurious but I now realise that it is not just 5 star luxury that makes a holiday memorable. Rather, it is the special blend of luxury with local cultural experience, delivered by a team of people who are determined to maintain high standards.
We just loved the design and detail of the villa, with its unparalleled sense of style. Every aspect was perfect from the scented towels and the beautiful white bed linen, to the natural jungle setting with forest and farm animal noises. But what turned this holiday into a magical experience was your wonderfully well trained staff.
Please pass on our sincere thanks to Made, Trisna, Iluh, Wayan and Putu (also those behind the scenes). We so appreciated Made's determination to achieve perfection, not just to please you but because of his own standards. He is such a lovely person who we miss already. Similarly, Trisna and Iluh had their own sense of style and served us in a delightful and regal manner. Trisna was always so patient and gracious and would materialise just when we needed her. We loved Putu's sense of humour, along with his incredible patience on our shopping trips. Finally, we would like to thank Wayan for his amazing cooking skills. I had planned to introduce Liz and Ian to lots of great restaurants that we had frequented on previous visits but ended up only having one meal out at La Luciola, such was the standard of the meals prepared by Wayan.
I am very rarely sad to finish a holiday but instead look forward to planning the next. In fact, in all the places we have stayed in Bali we have made a point of trying a new hotel each time. However, Sungai Gold will now be an exception! I am as determined as ever to return next year with our huge family.
Once again, many thanks for convincing me that a villa experience was the way to go….We're hooked!!
