    Description

    If you want a real Canarian experience, yet with all the comforts of home, plus your own hot tub, come and stay in our pretty rural authentic Canarian house on one level built from traditional stone dating approx from 1890 on the outskirts of the lovely old town of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 560 metres above sea level. The house, which sleeps a maximum of 3 people, is comfortably furnished in a rustic style with character wooden beamed ceilings and cool whitewashed walls. Its spacious layout offers 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single), newly renovated shower room, lounge/dining room and a separate fully equipped kitchen with a quirky cave like feel, all leading from a central hallway. The house has all the home comforts you need.

    Outside, our guests enjoy their own enclosed private south facing garden which is on 3 levels. The top level has a table and 4 chairs with an umbrella plus a rustic style BBQ for alfresco dining and on the middle level are sun loungers and umbrella. This area is a real sun trap! On the lower level we have created a relaxing chillout area with seating, a patio heatere and a corner pergola incorporating a misting system, perfect for cooling off in hot weather. There is also a hot tub for our guests sole use which we're sure you'll especially enjoy at night under the stars with a glass of something chilled by your side! The garden offers pleasant views to the sea, surrounding countryside and mountains. Guests have their own separate entrance so are able to come and go as they please plus there's free parking directly outside the property.

    Ideally suited to couples and is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday away from the tourist resorts as this is a quiet rural residential area. It's a great get-away-from-it-all honeymoon destination too. Relax on your sun lounger during the day and when the sun goes down, enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine in the chill out area before savouring a romantic BBQ in the garden or take a stroll up to the village to sample traditional Canarian cuisine or tapas in the local restaurants, cafs and bars. End your day with a relaxing dip in the hot tub under the stars ...

    For homeworkers, there's fast free WiFi plus plenty of space to work in. For those who need it, there can be 2 separate workspaces (one in the lounge/dining room where we have created a specific work space in the corner plus one in the 2nd bedroom) with access to power sources and good natural lighting. Or set your laptop up in the garden, even better! Switch on the coffee machine and you're good to go ...

    No sharing of common areas as our guests have the whole house and garden for themselves.

    If you enjoy nature and walking/hiking and cycling Finquita Strelitzia is ideally situated as there are excellent walking trails and cycling routes nearby. However, we also offer FREE WIFI for guests who really can't switch off from the outside world!

    Pets not accepted unfortunately, sorry, however cat lovers are especially welcome as we do have cats who may visit you in the garden occasionally, particularly if you're having a BBQ!

    Finquita Strelitzia is situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 560 metres above sea level. Nearest shops, banks, bakery, chemist, bars and restaurants are within a 10-15 minute walk in San Miguel. The property is ideally situated for the coast, golf courses, countryside and mountains as the main TF-1 motorway is just a 10 minute drive away, with 15-20 minutes drive to beaches, golf courses and Tenerife South airport.

    Just 20 minutes away is Siam Park which claims to be the most spectacular water attraction in Europe, however the number one tourist attraction here in Tenerife is of course the volcano, Mount Teide, which can be reached by car in less than an hour, depending on how many stops you make to admire the stunning views!

    The shower room has been totally renovated and the floor retiled in Summer 2021. It contains a shower with rain shower head, modern washbasin and bathroom unit with overhead lighting and a WC. Spare towels can be found in the bathroom unit and a hairdryer is available.

    The cosy lounge/dining room overlooks the garden area & contains a sofa, dining table & chairs, coffee table, reading/floor lamps, fan, 32" flat screen TV, DVD unit + USB port & DVD's, radio/CD/MP3 player, cupboard unit with books/games/tourist info.
    There are a few DVD's in the house but please feel free to bring your own or films on a pen drive. Some card & board games are provided and you'll find a good selection of books in English.

    The spacious separate kitchen contains a full size fridge/freezer, gas cooker with hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, juicer, washing machine, all crockery/cutlery/cooking utensils, BBQ tools, iron and ironing board and a clothes airer. It has a low ceiling giving it a quirky cave like feel and the window looks out to a pretty patio with tropical plants such as bouganvillea and plumbago.

    The garden is south facing, set on 3 levels. On the top level there's a stone BBQ, a large patio table with 4 chairs plus a large parasol. Some coals and firelighters are supplied for the BBQ however once used up guests are requested to replace them thereafter for subsequent guests. On the middle terrace you'll find sun loungers & a smaller parasol and the hot tub. You'll love the HOT TUB - it's especially wonderful at night underneath the stars, with a glass of something chilled to hand! In 2020 we created the chillout area on the lower level. It's perfect for relaxing with a couple of drinks early evening while dinner's cooking on the BBQ. There's also a pergola with a misting system - great for cooling off in the hot weather!

    Car hire is recommended, although there is a bus route through the village for those who don't wish to drive, and airport transfers can be arranged. Free parking is available close to the house.

    Prices are for the property per night in STERLING based on 2 adults. PRICES FOR 3 PEOPLE ON REQUEST. Extra person 10 per night standard season, 15 per night high season. Christmas & New Year rates applicable from Friday 15th December 2023 to Thursday 4th January 2024 inclusive.
    A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of reservation with balance due in cash on arrival. A 60 euros security deposit is also payable on arrival to cover any damage during your stay. This will be refunded on departure should everything be in order.
    Minimum stay 5 nights unless agreed with owner. Durations of less than 5 nights MAY incur a small extra charge. Over 5 nights, duration can be any number of nights. Changeover day is flexible, as is time of check in/departure, dependent on other guests.
