    Description

    If you want a real Canarian experience, yet with all the comforts of home, plus your own private pool and hot tub, come and stay in our pretty rural house on one level built from traditional stone dating approx from 1890 on the outskirts of the lovely old town of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 560 metres above sea level. The house, which sleeps a MAXIMUM of 3 people, is comfortably furnished in a rustic style with character wooden beamed ceilings and cool whitewashed walls. Its spacious layout offers 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single), shower room, lounge/dining room and a separate fully equipped kitchen with a quirky cave like feel leading from a central hallway. The house has all the home comforts you need.

    Outside, our guests are able to enjoy their own enclosed private south facing garden which is on 2 levels. The upper level has a table and 4 chairs with an umbrella plus a rustic style BBQ for alfresco dining and on the lower level are sun loungers and umbrella. There is also a plunge pool and hot tub for our guests sole use and the garden is south facing offering nice views to the sea, surrounding countryside and mountains. Guests have their own separate entrance so are able to come and go as they please. We're sure you'll especially enjoy the hot tub at night under the stars with a glass of something chilled by your side!

    Nearest shops, banks, bakery, chemist, bars and restaurants are within walking distance in the village of San Miguel.

    Car hire is recommended, although there is a bus route through the village for those who don't wish to drive, and free parking is available close to the house. Finquita Strelitzia is ideally situated for the coast, golf courses, countryside and mountains as the main TF-1 motorway is just a 10 minute drive away, with 15-20 minutes drive to beaches and Tenerife South airport.

    Finquita Strelitzia is particularly suited to couples and is ideal for those seeking a relaxing holiday away from the tourist resorts as this is a quiet rural residential area. It's a perfect get-away-from-it-all honeymoon destination too. Chill out by the pool during the day and when the sun goes down, enjoy a romantic BBQ under the stars or take a stroll up to the village to sample traditional Canarian cuisine or tapas in the local restaurants, cafs and bars. End your day with a relaxing dip in the hot tub ...

    If you enjoy nature and walking/hiking and cycling Finquita Strelitzia is ideally situated as there are excellent walking trails and cycling routes nearby. However, we also offer FREE WIFIi for guests who really can't switch off from the outside world!

    Children under the age of 12 not accepted as the house is not really child-friendly due to the fact that there are steps in the garden next to the pool and there is no safety barrier around the pool area. The tiles may also become slippery when wet. Cat lovers are especially welcome as we do have cats who may visit you in the garden occasionally, particularly if you're having a BBQ!

    Location description

    Finquita Strelitzia is situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 560 metres above sea level.     The lounge/dining room overlooks the pool area & contains a sofa, dining table & chairs, coffee table, reading/floor lamps, fan, 32" flat screen TV, DVD unit + USB port & DVD's, radio/CD/MP3 player, cupboard unit with books/games/tourist info.
    There are a few DVD's in the house but please feel free to bring your own or films on a pen drive.Some card & board games are provided and you'll find a good selection of books in English.

    The spacious separate kitchen contains a full size fridge/freezer, gas cooker with hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, juicer, washing machine, all crockery/cutlery/cooking utensils, BBQ tools, iron and ironing board and a clothes airer. It has a low ceiling giving it a quirky cave like feel and the window looks out to a pretty patio with tropical plants such as bouganvillea and plumbago.

    The garden is south facing, set on 2 levels. On the top level there's a stone BBQ, a large patio table with 4 chairs plus a large parasol. Some coals and firelighters are supplied for the BBQ however once used up guests are requested to provide more thereafter for subsequent guests.On the lower level you'll find sun loungers & a smaller parasol. There is a round unheated plunge pool approx 4.5 x 1.2m deep, with metal steps for access; it's ideal for dipping in & out of on hot summer days, but probably only the brave will venture in during winter! You'll love the HOT TUB - it's especially wonderful at night underneath the stars, with a glass of something chilled to hand!

    Car hire is recommended, although there is a bus route through the village for those who don't wish to drive, and airport transfers can be arranged. Free parking is available close to the house.

    Towels & bedlinen are provided and bedlinen is changed weekly. A selection of towels are provided for guests to use around the pool. There are no final cleaning charges.

    Deposit/Booking Notes

    Prices are for the property per week in EUROS based on 2 adults. PRICES FOR 3 PEOPLE ON REQUEST. Christmas & New Year rates applicable from Friday 20th December 2019 to Thursday 2nd January 2020 inclusive, and Friday 18th December 2020 to Thursday 7th January 2021 inclusive.
    A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable at time of reservation with balance due in cash on arrival. A 60 euros security deposit is also payable on arrival to cover any damage during your stay. This will be refunded on departure should everything be in order.
    Minimum stay 7 nights unless agreed with owner. Durations of less than 7 nights MAY incur a small extra charge. Over 7 nights, duration can be any number of nights. Changeover day is flexible, as is time of check in/departure, dependent on other guests.
