Journey's End is one of a crescent of fourteen townhouses which are all privately owned. The house is set in beautiful, mature, landscaped gardens with colourful planting and lawned areas. The magnificent weir pool being the central feature. Both the bedrooms, one double/one twin, and the bathroom are on the ground floor. The double has patio doors leading onto a south facing terrace overlooking the enclosed gardens to the swimming pool. An excellent secluded suntrap. Loungers are provided.
Upstairs, patio doors lead from the large comfortable lounge to the south facing balcony. Along with A/con a log burner is fitted, making this an ideal base for a winter stay. There is a small cloakroom/toilet and modern spacious kitchen/diner with full cooker, f-freezer, m-wave and w-machine. A balcony, which overlooks the town to the west and enjoys the evening sun, leads off the kitchen. Sky TV, music system, PS 2, Wii, along with various games. DVD and video are provided along with CD's, DVD's, video's to amuse Adults and children. We have now fitted a child stair gate.
PLEASE NOTE: FOR YOUR AND OUR PEACE OF MIND. THE PROPERTY HAS AN ANNUAL SAFETY CHECK BY A QUALIFIED ENGINEER. ALSO FITTED ARE Co2 MONITORS, SMOKE ALARMS, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND FIRE BLANKET. Please make yourself aware of their positions on arrival. A comprehensive first aid kit will be on top of the fridge.
We have to mention our manager, some say she is superhuman, we just know her as Tanya, she will make a difference to your holiday if you allow her. We have total trust that she will look after you come what may.
We must not forget the RED book in the house, It is full of things you will want to know and some that you may not, but hopefully it is comprehensive. Along with Adrian we have put it together, it should make your holiday happen sooner. We just need you to have a good time so you will tell all your friends and book again.
The house has a full letting licence (AL) from the local Council. An essential document not easily obtainable. It tells you that the property is of a high standard.

Location description
Praia da Luz is just 7 kilometres from Lagos, the main town of The Western Algarve. Lagos is a beautiful town with a marina, restaurants and bars. Praia da Luz is more a village but boasts some excellent restaurants and bars. It has a long sandy beach with water sports and is ideal for children. Within a 20 minute drive you have a choice of 4 superb golf courses, Parque de Floresta, Palmares, Boavista and Penina. It is a drive of approximately 30 minutes to the west coast and the spectacular quiet beaches of this most south westerly point of Europe.
Other activities
Autodromo do Algarve, Portimao, the F1 circuit in the Western Algarve. Just 20 minutes from the house. See their website for the events calendar.

Tourist attractions
Far too many tpo mention but our favorites have to be The Jeep Safari, a days trip up into the Monchique mountains, with a very amusing guide and the Seafari dolphin boats, what a boat ride!!
Directions
Full directions, map, places to go, things to do, places to eat all suggested by past guests will be given on conformation.
Luz is an easy 60 minute drive from Faro Airport along a modern motorway.
Faro is well served by the budget airlines - Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2,, etc. and there are lots of car rentals at the airport.
A car is very convenient but not essential as train, airport transfers are an easy option. Help is readily available if required. We do have a tame taxi driver who is very reliable, even when in Luz. A very good supermarket is just a 500mt walk or 750mt drive. The beach is just a 800mt walk.
Excursions to all popular places of interest are available. Just ask Tanya our super manager she will help with tickets and suggestions. Many pick up locally.

***** " Home from home " in the sun!
We had a lovely holiday in Mac and Roger's very homely and comfortable house. I can honestly say that I have never stayed anywhere that I have felt more at home in on a holiday
.
It really is in an ideal position, .literally only 10 minutes walk into Luz, where there is a very nice promenade and beach.
We enjoyed a delicious fish Cataplana in La Concha right on the front, looking directly over the beach. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
The house is in an ideal location, if you enjoy walking you could manage without a car, but there is so much to do and see in the area that a car is a bonus, and it is was easy to drive as the roads were very quiet.
Lagos is a lovely old town, with very quaint cobbled streets and only 10 mins away by car. We also enjoyed walking to Begau and Salema, both reminded us Cornwall in the sun, delightful!
The house itself has everything you need, we especially enjoyed having the choice of the balcony or the private terrace and using the pool area which we mostly had to ourselves.
We do want to recommend this holiday because it greatly deserved, as long as it doesn't get too booked up, because we want to go back next year!

***** Brilliant - Home away from Home
This was our first time in Portugal and what a welcome this was. Upon arival, on one of the hottest days in the history of the world, what better way to refresh than a nice cool drink with ready made ice-cubes from the freezer or perhaps a lovely coffee made with freshly ground beans from the Bean-to-Cup coffee maker? To say that this apartment is well equipt would be an understatement, it's not a case of seeing what it has got but more try to find something it hasn't! From start to finish this apartment made our holiday the most enjoyable to date and delivered on every aspect. It didn't have the usual clinical and sterile feel of many units or hotels but a very homely one that made you comfortable as soon as you set foot through the door. The shared grounds and pool area were excellently maintained and beautifuly landscaped and the pool itself was perhaps one the most interesting i've seen. Chris the property manger was a very pleasant English fellow and was on hand to answer any questions we had both about the property and the local area. We only tried a few of the local eateries and bars, which were all excellent, we bought groceries from the local supermarkets (SPAR and Baptista) which both stock a great selection of both local and british products. The beach, although busy, was very pleasant with lots of activities available (pedalos and other watersports). On the whole it as the apartment and pool that made it for us and was where we spent most of our time, it was a home away from home and I would recomend it to anyone, anyday. Many thanks to Roger & Mac, we wil be back for sure!

Peacefully situated but within reach of all ammenities. Very comfortable and a pool to die for! Try the cliff walk to nearby Burgau for a drink or lunch, catch the bus back a beautiful trip!. Luzi bar on the front at Luz good for light snacks and cool beers, recommended!

Deposit/Booking Notes
Non-refundable 25% deposit to confirm booking. Unless it is Covid related. Meaning your authorities have banned travel to Portugal or the other way round. Then we will normally refund 100%, or carry the deposit forward.
Balance required 4 weeks before arrival.
Bank transfer preferred.
Prices are set in Pounds Sterling but we are also more than happy to accept Euros. Exchange rate to be agreed.
We advise that you take out Travel insurance including cancellation.
Our cancellation policy. 60 days before arrival 100% of balance. 30 days before arrival, 50%. Unless we are able to rebook, then we would refund in full, less any admin costs or the re booking not at the same rate. We are always fair and flexible to others problems.
For interest all our cancelled bookings for 2020 due to Covid, were repaid in full or carried forward at the guests request.
Our minimum stay is 3 nights, priced at 60% of weekly rate. With the exception of July and August when it is 7 nights.
However, we would consider shorter stays if it fit with our other bookings. The price would reflect you filling in gaps.
We give an automatic 10% discount to returning guests, and to stays over 14 nights.
Long winter lets are negotiable with utilities charged at cost.
