    Description

    Located in the south of France (Department Herault in the Languedoc) our home is set in a large sunny, private, flat and landscaped garden. The house is divided into two private and self-contained areas. At the front of the house is the entrance to a one-bedroom gite with kitchen, shower, toilet, lounge area and a spacious double bedroom. To the side of the house are steps to the first floor with two double bedrooms, a sitting room, spacious kitchen/diner, hallway toilet and shower.

    Each of the main first floor rooms have excellent views over the village or into the garden with its many trees and shrubs such as olive, mimosa, cherry, roses, bamboo, pear and almond. All parts of the garden get the sun every day it shines with many places to relax as the mood takes you.

    Our very pleasant and unusual home is in a very quiet and cared for neighbourhood close to the centre of the village within minutes of the station for the Beziers-Millau railway and very close to countryside walks. Regular buses also link Magalas to Beziers and Bedarieux. The house is well conserved, equipped and decorated to a high standard and has its original features, gas central heating and garage.

    Magalas is located centrally in Herault with easy access to many pleasant sights, historic towns and cities. The historical cities of Carcassonne, Perpignan, Montpellier are within 1 hour, the Carmargue, Pyrenees and Nimes are less than a 2 hour drive and in 3 hours you can be in Andorra, Barcelona, Orange or Avignon.

    On Google Earth our home is located at map reference 43 degrees, 28 minutes north, 3 degrees. 13 minutes east.

    Location description

    Our warm and welcoming, detached stone house is located in Magalas, an ancient Cathar village or circulade. Magalas has an excellent selection of shops and services, restaurants, takeaways and a supermarket. It is located just 20 minutes from the Cathedral City of Beziers, within 20 minutes of the historic market town of Pezenas and a few minutes walk from excellent vineyards and restaurants. Using the D909, the A9 and A75 you can be relaxing on the lovely golden beaches of the Mediterranean coast at Agde within 30 minutes.

    Tourist attractions

    We chose this house because of its location. The village is wonderful, well served and has extremely friendly people and you can do as little or as much as you want to do.

    If you want to relax, sunbathe and chill-out you can stay at home enjoy the garden and the local village or if you like an active holiday you can go surfing, horse riding, walking, cycling and touring by bus, train and car.

    The Catalan region and the countryside is a fantastic place to explore with so much to see, savour and enjoy. Whether you are into good food, wine, cheese, history or culture you need not have a boring or quiet minutes when you are staying here.

    There are numerous beaches to visit and enjoy the delights of the Mediterranean sea, you will never need to visit the same restaurant twice and you probably will need to visit most towns and cities twice; once to experience the daytime ambience and again to experience the totally different atmosphere as darkness falls and the lights come on.

    By day you can sample all that the Languedoc has to offer culturally and historically and by night you can try an endless range of good foods and wines and have an unforgettable holiday.
