Description
Les Magnanarelles is an exceptional residence for 8 adults and one young child in a crib, situated on an acre (4 hectares) of quiet wooded land and private gardens with a heated pool, on a gated residential hilltop featuring panoramic views, in the village of Lourmarin, Luberon, Provence.
Private free parking. Recently built, the bright and comfortable villa is modern, yet the curved lines and the ceiling beams recall the traditional architectural style of the region. The home is furnished with classic and modern pieces and features marble flooring throughout.

On the first floor is:
- One ensuite double bedroom, (bed 180), overlooking the pool and gardens;
- One mezzanine bedroom with two beds (90) or one king (bed 180) and en-suite shower room;
- One Library with English and French books.
On the ground floor there is:
- One double bedroom (bed 160) which opens onto the terrace and gardens,
- One double bedroom (bed 140)
- One shared bathroom and four toilets.
A cot and a high chair are available. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan. Mosquito nets in all rooms. The house is centrally heated during winter and shoulder seasons.
The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, a microwave, an oven, a vitroceramic hob, a fridge-freezer, an electric kettle, a coffee machine, a toaster, and a full range of cooking utensils.
The spacious living room includes plenty of comfortable furniture, a tuned piano, a fireplace (wood is supplied), satellite TV with English language channels. A DVD/CD player with English and French DVDs and CDs, a radio, and a tape deck.
Also available to guests are a telephone, internet, Wi-Fi, a large library, several board games, a ping-pong table, table foosball for adults, and badminton equipment. Outside is a well-furnished terrace, with a panoramic view towards the hills.
This is an ideal place to enjoy tranquility and privacy.
The 10 x 5 meter swimming pool is surrounded by a terrace with pool loungers and umbrellas. The gardens and pool are lit at night.

Location description
The quaint village of Lourmarin is located in the National park of the Luberon. It has a beautiful XVI century castle, and the visit of this historical village is a must. There are many paintings galleries, crafts shops, high quality restaurants, cafés, bars, grocery stores, and a colourful Provençal market held each Friday in the village. Lourmarin is a village known for the writers who, at one time, lived there, Albert Camus and Henri Bosco being the most famous. The area offers plenty of pleasant walks and hikes and dramatic landscapes in the mountains of the Luberon.

Lourmarin is within easy reach of La Forêt des Cèdres, the canyon of the Regalon river. The hillside villages of Bonnieux, and Gordes are a must-see for all visitor. So is the village of Roussillon, surrounded by ochre cliffs that have given a unique colour and style to the local architecture.
Lourmarin is within easy reach of many interesting locations, including l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a town specializing in antiques, Gordes and the cistercian Abbey of Sénanque, and Lacoste known as the château of the Marquis de Sade
Numerous day trips are available which will allow the visitor to discover Provence. Les Baux de Provence is a beautiful Provençal village built on a large rocky outcrop offering a stupendous view over a large plain and the Alpilles mountain range.
Also worth visiting are St-Rémy-de-Provence, a painters' village renowned for its antique stores, and the old quarter of Aix-en-Provence, where one can visit the cathedral of St-Saveur and the studio of the painter Paul Cézanne. Nîmes is also nearby, and one should visit its Roman arena and many ancient ruins.
To the north is the city of Avignon, once home to the medieval papacy, which still has the spectacular Papal Palace, and the famous bridge of St-Bénézet immortalized in the song Sur le pont d'Avignon. The wine roads are a must-see in a region made famous by Châteauneuf-du-Pape and numerous other Côtes-du-Rhône villages. Lourmarin is an hour from the Mediterranean sea, and among the attractions there are the fishing village of Cassis, and the city of Marseille (with boats to the islands of Lerins and Château d'If). Nearby is the Camargue National Park, a great location for bird-watchers and nature lovers. The Riviera and the cities of Nice and Cannes are only two hours away.

Alors que nous devions partir au mois d'Août avec toute la petite famille (nos deux enfants leur conjoint et nos deux petites filles) en Turquie, le Covid 19 est passé par là et nous a obligé à changer de direction et nous rabattre sur la France; cela a finalement été une chance extraordinaire de redécouvrir cette merveilleuse région du Luberon; c'est un peu par hasard que nous sommes tombé sur votre propriété « les Magnanarelles », nos critères de recherche internet étaient la proximité de Lourmarin où nous avions des amis, quatre chambres, une piscine.
Votre maison a parfaitement répondu à tous nos critères et nous sommes incapables de trouver un point négatif à notre séjour.
Les points positifs :
- la proximité de Lourmarin et des commerces.
- le calme d'une résidence privée et sécurisée.
- 4 chambres sans clim mais dans une maison bien ombragée et des ventilateurs qui permettaient de respirer malgré la canicule (38° à l'ombre)
- la partie extérieure avec une belle piscine entretenue régulièrement ; un coin apéro sympa et un espace repas idéal pour le soir face à un jardin magnifiquement éclairé, avec un super BBQ
- l'intérieur est spacieux et nous permettait de déjeuner à l'ombre.
- tout est prévu pour 8 personnes : table, chaises, fauteuils, chaises longues, parasols ;
- en sous-sol, bien au frais, tous les jeux à notre disposition : table de Ping Pong, vrai babyfoot, etc...
Votre maison est très agréable, fonctionnelle, de grand confort, il ne manque rien, bien entretenue, et on ressent partout votre envie de bien recevoir vos hôtes.

“I stayed at the property with my family. The communication with the property owner was excellent during the booking process and we were provided with lots of information about the house and local facilities/restaurants/sites of interest. The house is lovely. Fantastic outdoor area, beautiful pool in lovely landscaped environment. There is a sense of quiet and isolation at the house even though it is very close to the village - a perfect combination. There is an excellent supermarket less than 5 minutes’ drive away where we picked up all our barbeque provisions regularly. The bedrooms are large and the facilities are excellent. Table tennis and table football were great alternative distractions for the children when they weren't in the pool. Lourmarin is one of the prettiest villages I have been to in France with a good range of restaurants from family friendly to high end. Excellent market there on Fridays (and lots of other markets in local villages on alternative days) ...... I'd highly recommend this property. Adam, UK”
Very smart villa in beautiful area of France
A beautiful villa, well positioned to explore the Luberon region. Very smart fixtures and fittings and spotlessly clean. Well equipped. Boys loved the table football. The owner is extremely helpful and always available on the telephone or email to address any questions either before or during the stay. Lourmarin itself is a lovely town with a vibrant market.
Highly recommend the area if you are looking for pretty hilltop villages, markets and cafes/restaurants.
A perfect house in lovely setting
We've stayed in this house over and over - a perfect house in a lovely setting, and the pool is the best we've ever found! Lourmarin, only minutes away, is charming and is a great place to drink, eat, and watch the world go by. There are lots of other nearby villages worth exploring, and access to Provence and even the Carmargue is easy. Whether you want to spend your holiday lazing around the pool and daydreaming in Lourmarin, or to use your days exploring, this house is strongly recommended!
We recently returned from a family holiday in France. The house was stunning and provided lots of from for the family. There are 3 double bedrooms, and a fourth on the mezzanine which can be made in to twin beds. Each room including the mezzanine have their own bathrooms. The kitchen is excellent and well stocked with spices etc for cooking. The living space is well set out and there is plenty of room around the main table on the terrace. The pool is also a good size. All of the sun beds, furniture and umbrellas are of fine quality and really add to the feeling of staying some where special. The owner also kindly recommended an excellent chef to cook for a birthday celebration one night and the food and service was exceptional. This is a great place and I would recommend it to all. It's just outside the centre of town. The vineyard next door is well worth a visit! IAN – England.
IT IS BETTER IN REALITY
We originally booked an eight night stay in late August at Jaqueline's villa in Lourmarin for ourselves and three adult children.
As good as the property and the environs looked and was described on the website, it was better in reality. The large house is well-appointed and, though the kitchen is small, it is well equipped
to transform the fresh ingredients available at the many local farmer's markets into wonderful meals.
What we expected to be a vacation filled with restaurant dining was unexpectedly filled with home
cooking using the outdoor grill and leading to patio dining well into the night fueled by inexpensive, but satisfying, local wines.
Lourmarin itself, a 15 minute walk from the villa, is attractive, not very touristy and boasting of restaurants worth visiting more than once. Nearby towns, accessible only by car, are fun to visit
and you are likely to find a farmer's market at one or another of these on most days of the week. The
highlight of our stay was enjoying the beautifully maintained pool. We found ourselves curtailing our
sightseeing in order to get back to swim (and play). Before our visit we were concerned that what is
characterized online as "air conditioning" actually refers to ceiling fans. However, as Jacqueline assured us,
the stone floors and shutters to keep the sun out during the day effectively kept the house comfortable.
Once settled we extended our stay one night. Jaqueline was very attentive and helpful both before and
during our stay. We all agreed that our visit to Lourmarin was the best vacation we've ever had.
We hope to return.
