Description
L'Ecurie is set in the beautiful Vendée countryside, in the small village of Lairoux. This is only a 10-minute drive to the cathedral town of Luçon where you will find many shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The safe sandy beaches of La Faute and La Tranche sur Mer are only 20 minutes away. The area has an excellent hiking and cycling network.
The House contains many period features along with a modern fully equipped kitchen. There is also a private al fresco seating and BBQ area. In the extensive gardens you will find a 12 x 7 metre heated pool (shared with one other gite), a boules court and a large garden area to explore.
The living room has a TV, DVD player and UK & French Satellite Channels and there is also secure wireless internet access.
For guests with young children we provide a cot, baby bath, changing mat and highchair.
The garden is set on four levels with the top level containing the large courtyard for parking, a grassy area for relaxation and a boules court for your amusement. A gentle slope then takes you down to the enclosed 12m x 7m heated swimming pool where you can relax in the sun. For younger children we also have a paddling pool & lots of inflatables.
Beyond the swimming pool and down a few steps you’ll find our organic vegetable garden, where only the hardworking should venture! Beyond the vegetable garden lies the extensive lower garden where the children can run & play in safety. There is a picnic bench amongst the fruit trees, and in the evening you can watch the sun set over the Marais and listen out for the extensive range of birds that live in the gardens – including the Barn Owls!
The games room is situated opposite the pool area and is available for all guests to use during their stay. You will find many amusements here, such as table tennis, table football, board games, books, DVDs, and a TV area with Xbox 360 & arcade games consoles. Paints, pencils & crayons are also supplied.’
There is also extensive tourist information provided in the games room.

Location description
L'Ecurie is set in the small village of Lairoux, only a 10 minute drive from the lovely town of Luçon with many bars, restaurants and shops.
It is also only a 15 minute drive from the sandy beaches of the Southern Vendée.
A 40 minute drive will bring you to the lively port of La Rochelle - a great place to spend a day or an evening - with good restaurants and many events throughout the year.
Other activities
Perfect for birdwatchers and nature lovers as we are set on the edge of a wetland valley.
Local events
In summer the local towns of Luçon, La Tranche and La Faute all host a variety of events, including musical evenings, fireworks and markets selling regional produce.
Tourist attractions
L'Ecurie is only 60 minutes away from the fantasic theme park of La Puy du Fou and 70 minutes from Futuroscope at Poitiers.
Directions
Both Nantes and La Rochelle Airport have flights from Budget Airlines - Ryanair, EasyJet. Car hire is available from both airports.
St Malo is only a 3 hour drive away, Cherbourg is 4 hours away, and Calais is 7.5 hours away.
A car is essential for this location.
The TGV now runs from Paris to either La Roche sur Yon or Les Sables D'Olonne - both only 40 minutes away.

Delighted that we managed to visit L’Ecurie this year. Different in September as we usually come for Winter breaks. It has been a fabulous week chilling out by the pool, weather glorious sunny warm 29 degrees, enjoying a glass or 2 of wine with Annette & Jason our very welcoming hosts/friends who are knowledgeable about all of the area.

Thank you Annette & Jason for a wonderful month at L’Ecurie – our 4th visit here ! The welcome, hospitality and friendliness is outstanding – they are both great hosts and friends. L’Ecurie is so well equipped with everything you need, especially the fabulous pool, games room and sunsets. We’ve spent so many lovely evenings by the pool, having BBQs and sharing the ‘odd’ glass of vin.
The boys (aged 19 & 21) loved the Atlantic Wake Park and the Wipe Out circuit at L’Aiguillon sur Mer ; and we all loved and enjoyed the zoo in Mervent, where the animals have lots of freedom.

Thank you very much for your welcoming us as if we came home.
We have enjoyed our stay at Maison Lairoux!! It was really relaxing, the swimming pool, reading in the garden, playing games. Visiting little towns like Jard sur Mer, L’Aiguillon sur Mer etc.. and especially Ile de Ré!
Also, our dog Noah enjoyed it, certainly during the walk in the Valley de l’Yon

Deposit/Booking Notes
Prices are per week and include all linens and towels, except pool towels.
In order to secure your booking we ask that you firstly check for availability, then complete the online Booking Form on our website & finally send a 30% non-refundable deposit for the total cost of the holiday. A £100 Security deposit is required & this should be sent along with the final payment 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
Cancellation prior to final payment will only incur the loss of deposit; cancellation with less than 8 weeks to go will incur full loss of payment if we are unable to rent out to gite to other people.
Payment can be made in Sterling or Euros either by direct bank transfer or credit card.
