Description
La Fermette is a stone-built, former farmhouse and stands in extensive grounds. There are ponds and a stream, lawns and mature trees, and wildlife everywhere. You can see red squirrels, and birds of prey, and if you are lucky, hares, deer and even (rarely) wild boar! The peace and quiet is almost tangible. The local village, Lore, with its small supermarket, is within walking distance. Ceauce, a small market town with a full range of shops, banks and a small market, is a couple of miles away. 8 miles to the north is Domfront, a mediaeval market town with a fine church and a castle. Also nearby, you will find Lassay les Chateaux, with its picturesque castle, lake and rose garden. Bagnoles de l'Orne, about 15 miles away, is a spa resort set around a lake with a casino, many restaurants and smart shops.
La Fermette is available for a maximum of 6 people (plus a baby). The ground floor consists of a large living/dining room with a separate, though visible kitchen. The cottage has electric central heating and there is also a wood burning stove in the living room.
There are comfortable chairs and a sofa, coffee tables, lamps, a dining table and 6 chairs.
The rear window overlooks a patio with a table and armchairs, beside a pond.
The front window overlooks a small front garden, fenced and gated, to provide safety for small children.
The kitchen, with oak units, has an electric oven with ceramic hob, a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle and a
2-door fridge/freezer.
Off the back hall, which also gives access to the garden and the stairs, is a shower room with hand basin and a separate wc.
Upstairs, off the spacious landing with its stair gate, there are three prettily furnished bedrooms, two double and a twin. All have wardrobes, mirrors, dressing tables and bedside tables, all with lamps
The house bathroom has a shower, hand basin and WC. A cot is available on request.

Le Haut Fresnay is an ideal base from which to explore the Loire Valley and Eastern Brittany, as well as to visit the many attractions that Normandy has to offer - particularly the D-Day landing beaches and the Bayeux Tapestry.

Le Haut Fresnay is 10 km to the south of DOMFRONT, and 3 km to the east of the small market town of CEAUCE, in the Orne region of Basse Normandie (Lower Normandy).
