Description
Ashfield Cottage comprises:
• Large sitting/dining room with gas fired stove, smart television connected to wi-fi with incorporated DVD, plus a stereo and i player/phone dock.
• Well equipped kitchen with frig-freezer, gas hob, double gas ovens, dishwasher and microwave.
• 3 bedrooms – one double (king) and two double or twin (one super king, one king)
• Family bathroom upstairs, with over bath shower.
• Downstairs shower room with walk in shower, lavatory and hand basin.
• Utility room with washing machine, Belfast sink, iron and board.
• Sun room off the kitchen which provides a second dining area and leads into the sunny back court yard.
The cottage is our home, which we also let out, rather than a property specifically set up as a Holiday Let, so if it seems a little personal and quirky I hope this will be part of the charm. The whole house is decorated to a high standard. There is Unlimited Infinity Wi-Fi and we are lucky enough (for Wales!) to get a good mobile phone signal.
Ashfield cottage is heated throughout with gas fired central heating. The west facing front garden is particularly lovely on sunny evenings, when you can watch the sun set along the Usk Valley, while the courtyard outside the sun room catches the morning sun - lovely for al fresco breakfast! A welcome pack, linen and towels are included. While one well behaved dog is permissible by arrangement, the cottage is not really suitable for very small children or infirm people - breakable items for the former and many steps throughout for the latter. N.B. The garden is not fenced from the neighbour's garden so pets can stray across.
There is a single, lockable garage with power points, plus off road parking for 2 further cars.
The welcome pack contains basics such as milk, bread, eggs, sparkling water and a bottle of wine. General provisions (e.g. tea, coffee, jam and marmalade) and general cooking ingredients are constants in the food cupboards. However it is possible to supply more substantial provisions by arrangement.
We request no smoking anywhere in the house and reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning if smoking should take place.
PAYPAL In these rather uncertain times, it might be reassuring to know payment is accepted by PayPal.
COVID ADJUSTMENTS: Cancellation - In the unfortunate circumstances that a reservation cannot proceed a postponement or refund may be available. Please request my Terms and Conditions for full details.
Cleaning - The property will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between every set of guests.

Perfect Place
I was very lucky - looking for somewhere within easy reach of Bristol so my son and his family could join us for a long weekend during our week's holiday, I looked westwards into Wales from Bristol. I rejected some places and properties then, - 'serendipity' - I found Ashfield Cottage and Crickhowell.
The house was perfect for us - we all loved its character, excellent and comfortable facilities, glorious garden and views, and the different 'rooms' where we could relax separately or enjoy meals or playing 'Dobble' together.
Crickhowell's excellent shops, places to eat, river and canal are a very short walk away. We didn't use the car for 4 days. We did 2 longer walks( up Table Mt. - wonderful panoramic views), and along the Usk, through the Glanusk estate and back along the canal. There was so much we could have done but we need and want to go back again.
Cozy and well situated
Five of us - two couples and one single - stayed at Ashfield Cottage for two weeks in September. There are so many things that we loved about the cottage - the superb location just at the edge of Crickhowell; the charming and convenient town of Crickhowell itself; the well-equipped kitchen (we cooked in almost every night and always had everything we needed); the lovely garden; the quiet & privacy; the comfortable and attractive furnishings; just enough space. But the thing that sums it all up for us is the fact that we looked forward to returning to our cozy cottage every evening after a long day of walking or sightseeing. The bathrooms are good, and I loved having a tub to soak the bones after walking. Note that one of the bathrooms is on the ground floor at the back of the house, not especially convenient to the bedrooms. But we did not find this to be a great problem. Joanna was extremely responsive during the booking process and throughout our stay. We would happily return and highly recommend Ashfield Cottage.
