    Description

    Fire Station Cottage offers comfortable modern and bright accommodation in the heart of the village of Comrie, Perthshire. An ideal base for visiting Perthshire and Stirlingshires many attractions.

    Fire Station Cottage has a well equipped modern kitchen with dining area and a utility room. A cosy, comfortable lounge with a Morso wood burning stove, Freeview television and DVD as well as a selection of books, maps, guide books and games. A separate dining room sits next to the kitchen. On the ground floor is a walk in shower room with toilet and hand basin.
    On the first floor is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom, a single bedroom, and a large family bathroom.
    The house is pet friendly, has Wi-Fi and is well equipped.
    Outside is a seating area with raised beds. Parking is adjacent to the cottage for one vehicle and close by is a free car park.

    The village offers a good selection of shops including a butcher, baker, delicatessen, general store, pharmacy, post office and coffee shops. There are several hotels in the village with public bars and restaurants. There is also a very good spa (Senses) and a hairdresser.

    Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre with activities for all the family from soft play to fly fishing ponds is 20 minutes drive away.

    Comrie, Perthshire and the Central Highlands offers something of interest for everyone and these are just some ideas

    Golf Courses: Comrie (9 holes), Crieff (18 holes), St. Fillans (9 holes) and the world class Gleneagles is only 20 minutes drive away

    Walking: As well as a fantastic range of short walks and rambles there are a large number of Munros within an hours drive of the house.

    Fishing: Fishing is available on the River Earn and at Loch Earn as well as a number of other nearby locations.

    Watersports: Sailing, water skiing and kayaking on Loch Earn. Other water and outdoor activity centers based in Aberfeldy (45 minutes drive).

    Scone Palace (near Perth) and Stirling Castle are 40 minutes drive away. The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery is in Crieff and Drummond Gardens near Muthill, with its stunning formal gardens is only 15 minutes drive away. Crieff is 7 miles to the east of Comrie and has a library, leisure pool and a wide range of shops and eating places.

    Directions

    South: Via the A9 from Stirling direction. Turn off the A9 onto the A822 signposted Braco. Follow this road through the village of Braco. If the road conditions are good (i.e. no snow or ice) then after leaving Braco take the beautiful B827 which is signposted for Comrie and Auchingarroch Wildlife Park. From this junction it is 10 miles to the village and the views are stunning. As you near the village you will pass Auchingarroch Wildlife Centre on your right and Cultybraggan Camp further along on your left. The road bends slightly right as you enter the village and after 200m the main B827 turns to the left but you need to carry straight on at that junction, this is the South Crieff Road. Continue along this road for 300m before taking the first left onto Bridge Street. Drive over the steel bridge crossing the river Earn; at the end of the road turn left. You will take a sharp right bend, Fire Station cottage is a few metres after the bend on the right hand side. The drive is the first turning on the right where you can park one car. The car park for more cars is further down on the right hand side too.

    Alternative route from the South: Via the A9, turn off the A9 onto the A822 signed Braco. Instead of turning off onto the B827 continue on this road. You will pass through Muthill. On reaching Crieff continue through the town to a T-junction and turn left onto the A85 signposted for Comrie. Carry on this road until you reach the village of Comrie (7 miles). Enter the village and drive along the main street; at the end of the main street, you will take a sharp right bend, Fire Station cottage is a few metres after the bend on the right hand side. The drive is the first turning on the right where you can park one car. The car park for more cars is further down on the right hand side too.

    East: From Perth take the A85 west towards Crieff. Drive through Crieff following the A85 towards Comrie and Crianlarich. After 7 miles you will reach the village. Enter the village and drive along the main street. At the end of the main street, you will take a sharp right bend, Fire Station cottage is a few metres after the bend on the right hand side. The drive is the first turning on the right where you can park one car. The car park for more cars is further down on the right hand side too.

    West: Arrive at Comrie via the A85 from Lochearnhead (13 miles) and St. Fillans (5 miles).
    You will take a sharp right turn entering the Village, where you will see the Old Bakery and the Deils Cauldron restaurant. On your left you will see a turn to the village car park. Just past this you will see the Old Church. Fire Station Cottage sits next to this and the entrance to the cottage where you can park one car is adjacent to the property.
