    The Cottage

    Dating back to 1860, this large cottage has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Two steps lead into the entrance hall, at the end of the hall is a large utility room for storing your bikes, kitbags and outdoor gear.

    The lounge is spacious, bright and stylish with an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. The floor is solid oak. There is a large John Lewis sofa and also a comfortable leather armchair to help you relax. There is an abundance of storage space and themed pictures hang on the wall.

    The kitchen is large modern, well equipped fitted kitchen which has all the "tools" that Chef will require. Kitchen units are well fitted and provide ample storage. Surface space is plentiful and very well presented. The kitchen lighting is extensive and well positioned to allow flexibility. Appliances are very well provided and include a fridge/freezer. There is a reclaimed pine dining table which comfortably seats 4.

    Upstairs are three bedrooms. The large bedroom is splendid with a super king-sized And So To Bed 'Austen' brass bed taking centre stage, opposite the bed is a feature fireplace. For those who like to sit pretty, there is a large wardrobe with drawers and a lovely Edwardian dressing table. The bedding is soft egyptian cotton.

    Further bedrooms both have a single bed.

    There is a well lit shower room with with hooks for robes. Mirrors are well positioned. The double sized walk-in shower has excellent water pressure and the temperature is instantly controllable. The shower head can be hand held. There is a hand basin. A separate WC has its own hand basin and storage cupboard. It is all finished to a very high standard.

    Please note: the accommodation is unsuitable for those reliant on a wheelchair.

    Sorry, no dogs except assistance dogs.

    Location description

    With Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Gardens a 5 minute walk and the famous 'Barter Books', in Alnwick's converted Victorian railway station close, everything is on your doorstep. We hope you will enjoy staying in central Alnwick with all it's shops, cafes, restaurants and theatre.

    Holy Island, the Farne Islands; with Grace Darlings lighthouse, Warkworth, Bamburgh Castle and Cragside are all within easy reach. The lovely coastline and beaches of Northumberland are just a 10 minute drive, making it a fabulous base from which to explore the area.

    Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Gardens. Barter Books, Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle, Beaches and Coastal and Rural Walks are all on your doorstep.
