Description
Scāl's Broch is one of two highly unusual holiday houses on the northwest coast of the Scottish Highlands. Gille Buidhe and Scāl were two brothers who are said to have been the first people to settle Coigach, a remote peninsula on the northwest coast of the Highlands of Scotland. Brochs are Iron Age roundhouses peculiar to this part of the Scottish Highlands. The Brochs of Coigach are modern recreations of an ancient concept. They are as much works of art as they are the most luxurious holiday lets you can think of. These unique buildings near the village of Achiltibuie are embedded entirely in dry stone walls, timeless in appearance but contemporary in substance. The Brochs of Coigach are situated within four acres of their own ground at the end of a private farm track.
Scāl's Broch is a large one bedroom hide-away with an open plan kitchen and dining area, sitting and observation room, and a grand bath and sauna. It is particularly favoured by honeymoon couples who will receive a complimentary bottle of champagne. It is difficult to think of anything more relaxing than to sit outside it on a still evening while sipping it. A fishing boat is sailing into the setting sun below you. The only sounds you hear are innumerable birds singing and twittering, and perhaps in the distance a lone piper practising his instrument...

Location description
The great thing about staying in The Brochs of Coigach is, you don't have to think too much at all about what to do. You just let nature and the art inside work their magic on your senses. If you fancy dinner to be brought to your house, you ask for it. If you want to cook yourself, you can do so in a well equipped kitchen. There are also a Michelin Star restaurant and two highly rated hostelries in the vicinity. At daytime, there are plenty opportunities for activities, from sea kayaking to a private boat charter in a super-smart motor yacht, from hillwalking, strolls on deserted beaches and swimming in a remote loch to trout and salmon fishing and, for the most adventurous, ski touring on nearby mountains in wintertime. If you have any questions, we are always here to help.
