Push the gate of our 16th century house and discover, well protected by its stone walls, 5 lovely independent self catering rooms, articulated around a quiet courtyard, fresh, romantic, far from noise and passers by, but close to all amenities. Feel home and enjoy Provencal quality life in Lourmarin.
The house is set around a shady and romantic interior courtyard.
At the top of the stairs leading to the house access to the self catering rooms and studios is via vaulted arches and half-levels.
Nothing is square here and no room is identical to any other, either in size or atmosphere. Each has its own charm and original atmosphere.
You will like their customized decoration.Furnished with objects and paintings found in flea markets, you will really feel "at home".
They all have a large queen or king bed (twin beds on request) an extra 80 cm bed in two of them, TV, stereo, wifi, dining area, kitchen, en-suite bathroom with large shower or bath.
The house is very cool in summer but we also supply fans.
Two of the rooms have air-conditioning
With their independent access these are destined for stays of a week or more , for 2 to 3 people. Minimum 3 nights.
In the patio, a summer kitchen withbarbecue and a large farm table can be used to make your own light meals if your day has been busy and you choose to stay quiet. Tables, chairs and chaises longues are available in the shady courtyard for you to relax in comfort.
Wi-fi is available in the common parts of the house, and you can get internet in your room pluging your computer to the electric line.
There are many maps and brochures available for you to consult and we are at your service to give you any advice that may help make your stay more pleasurable.
Animals are accepted upon request.

Location description
Blotted against the southern slope of the Luberon, amidst vinyards and olive groves, watched over by its imposing medieval castle, the village has more than enough charm to spare. With its narrow streets, its town squares embellished by sculpted fountains, its sunny sidewalk cafés, Lourmarin attracts more than mere tourists passing through: it lives up to its official description of being "one of the most beautiful villages of France".
In Lourmarin there are around fifteen excellent dining possibilities, and the wine growers of the area offer unforgettable wine-tasting experiences.
The weekly market, one of the finest in Provence, is held on Friday morning.
Lourmarin keeps watch over the South entrance to the wonderful Luberon massif, and is situated at the center of a perfect circle of “Provençal” villages and towns.
No matter the length of your stay, you will leave with unforgettable memories. Discover the lavander fields, the olive trees and vinyards, the hill top villages, the bories, the provencal Colorado, and of course the major historic towns such as Avignon, Arles, or Aix-en-provence, and the magnificent scenaries of Les baux-de Provence, or the Cassis calanques.

Local events
The weekly market, one of the finest in Provence, is held on Friday morning. It attracts many tourists but remains on a human scale and you will love its musical ambiance and happy atmosphere. Cooking demonstrations by local restaurateurs enliven the farmers' market which is held on Tuesday evenings from May to October on the topic of organic agricultural products and wine. Tourist attractions
The Château of Lourmarin, partly medieval and partly renaissance, is open every day except for 1st January and 25th December.
Apart from its exceptional architecture, the château has a fine art collection (C16th to C19th furniture, engravings, paintings, musical instruments and objets d’art. In July and August, guided tours in French take place at 11h, 14h 45 and 16h everyday unless a guide is unavailable through illness, etc. Groups: You can visit the château all year round with a guide if you reserve a few days in advance for a minimum of 7 people. Group rate applies only for 12 people or more. Tours in English also available on request.
The visit takes about one hour. Children under 10 are free, and we have a quiz in English. Families can picnic in the château grounds.

Lourmarin is centraly situated as a base for visiting Provence. It's in the heart of the Luberon, with Aix-en-Provence about 30 minutes, Marseille airport 1 hour to the south and Avignon 45 minutes to the west.
Having a car in Provence is essential, especially in small villages such as Lourmarin and you will see much more of Provence with a car. Car rental agencies are found in or near airports and train stations. There are no car rental agencies in Lourmarin.
There are a few buses connecting many of the villages to a larger city such as Aix-en-Provence, but they are not very frequent.
