    Description

    Le Beau Fief is a pretty little country cottage in the heart of the French countryside. Completely private & for your exclusive use, the gite is prettily decorated & quirky in character with bags of rustic charm with its exposed beams & Charente-stone walls. The property looks out onto a 600 sq m walled courtyard, making it very safe and secure for dogs and children. Further fruit trees and seating areas can be enjoyed by guests on the 500 sq m orchard opposite. The cottage is comprehensively equipped with all modern cons and many extras we feel will make your stay a little more special.

    The courtyard has many seating areas, sunloungers, parasols, dining equipment, BBQ.

    The village of Cherbonnieres is a 5 minute bike ride away. Here you can pick up some basic supplies such as bread and milk. We supply 5 mountain bikes at the gite for guests to use free of charge.

    Location description

    The gite is in a peaceful rural setting making it perfectly situated for strolls & bikerides through the countryside. There is lots of lovely bird and wildlife to be seen in the area.

    We are a twenty minute drive from the medieval town of Sain-Jean d'Angely, which has many interesting shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a pretty lake and picnic area here where you can make the most of some local watersports.

    Saintes, approx. 30 minutes away, is a Roman town, with a fascinating amphitheatre, old ruins and a wealth of cafes and restaurants.

    La Rochelle is approx. 1 hour away and is a must see. With fabulous street entertainers, a beautiful harbour and many fantastic shops and restaurants, it's an excellent day out.

    We're just an hour from the coast. The beach at Royan and La Cote Sauvage are very unspoilt and even in summer, usually uncrowded.

    Directions

    Ryanair flies to La Rochelle during the summer months. Out of season Limoges will be easier to reach.
    Bordeaux is usually accessible year round.
