The property can accommodate up to 4 people, over two levels, in two beautiful bedrooms, each full of character and charm. There is a large master bedroom with a king-size bed and a lovely twin room with two single beds. There is also a shower room on the first floor. All rooms are made up with comfortable, high quality cotton bedding and have central heating and alcove windows with fantastic views across the gardens to the farmland beyond. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with local artisanal furniture, and we use light coloured cotton bedding.

The kitchen and utility room is fully fitted and well-appointed with a range cooker, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area has a table for 4 people and the cosy lounge area has big squashy sofas, perfect for relaxing by the fire after a days sightseeing.

There is a TV and DVD player and WiFi internet is available free of charge. Central heating is also available on request.

The large, secluded, child-friendly grounds are well away from any roads. From time to time there are also sheep and chickens (in fenced off areas). We also have BBQs and outdoor games to keep kids entertained such as boules, frisbees, bats and balls, footballs etc.

We had a great holiday. Thanks for sharing the cottage and gardens, it’s very clean and homely - perfect for the three of us. Thank you for the cherries and raspberries - very fresh and yummy. We’ve visited many beautiful and interesting places whilst we’ve been here. All being well we’ll come back - maybe bring the extended family. xx :-)

We had a wonderful week in the most comfortable “Home from Home”. The Villa is lovely and an inspiration to us in our house hunting expedition. Thank you Ged & Lisa for all your great advice / knowledge sharing! You are brilliant hosts - nothing too much trouble - Thank you again.

Janet & Craig Carrington - Mansfield, UK.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your lovely villa in the most beautiful part of Normandy. Our favourites were watching the Tour de France, visiting the D-Day beaches & the lovely city of Rennes. Many thanks for all the help and information you gave us for making our holiday such a special one.

Sad to be leaving this beautiful place. So very relaxing, and all your kindness has made it even more special. A very big “thank you” for your delightful hospitality and generosity. What a lovely place for all our family to meet and the children were just so happy here too. You have provided many little extras that just made everything so comfortable.

    Jackie - Chichester, England.

Perfect! The house is lovely, the garden is awesome for kids and grown-ups and Ged & Lisa are the perfect hosts. Thanks guys!

Our family of 20 people aged 2 up to 84 years old had a fantastic time here. Both the properties had all the amenities we could have asked for and a great fire in the main house. Lisa and Ged were extremely accommodating. Fantastic scenery and properties alike. I would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to be back again in the future.

    Anna Chamberlain-Webber - London, UK.

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children stayed here for 1 week on our own and were joined by friends (another 5) for the second week. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the region and this provided a good central base. We did several day trips to St Malo, Mont St Michel, Cancale (fantastic seafood!!), D Day beaches, Caen, Castles at Fougeres and Falaise, and also loved exploring closer villages and market days. House was well set up and beautifully clean. The back yard was fantastic for the children to run around and play. The weather was chilly during our stay so we had the fire going a lot of the time and it was no problem for us to have more firewood. Lisa and Ged were both more than helpful and made us feel extremely welcome.

Fantastic bread & croissants at bakery in local village. The girls enjoyed a fun Easter egg hunt in the pretty gardens. Lunch at Manoir du Lys, very posh & very pleasant. Taster menu for adults very nice, expensive but price fine for Michelin starred restaurant. Also, lovely location and very good with the girls. Mont St. Michel was a fantastic sight and we were very impressed with the Zoo de Champrepus, lots to see, very well kept & we loved going into the enclosures with the lemurs! Lunch at Auberge de la Source, amazing! Had the taster menu again, very good value & again very good with children. A fantastic restaurant and definitely worth a visit. Afternoon spent at Village Enchanté, the girls loved it , again, very good value. Waterfalls and La Abbey Blanche, both worth a visit.

Lovely location & villa - Thank you Lisa & Ged, we had a lovely holiday!

A great place for a reunion! The location was perfect for all of our Normandy adventures. St Malo, Dinan, Mont St. Michel, your fresh market in a gale storm! Chambord, Chenonceau, Omaha beach & Bayeux. Nicole Sarda was an amazing plethora of fabulous stories on our tour of the D Day beaches!

Kathy Kane - Minnesota, Jennifer McTeague - Florida,

Patty Bellack - Illinois, Laura Bennett, Colorado.

We had two great weeks at La Mancelliere. Your accommodation is nice and cosy, the garden perfect for children to run and play in!

We saw a lot: Fougeres, Granville, Alligator Bay, Mont St. Michel, Cancale, Mortain and Abbey Blanche, the hound and horses show in Pleugueneuc, market day in St. Hilaire.

Beaches: Genets, and Jullouville where the waves gave us great fun and pleasure. Beer & pizza at La Pavillion Bleue. We also visited the American and German war cemeteries. In Fougerolles we ate a brioche, bought at the French Champion’s boulangerie, so now we also know what a brioche looks and tastes like!

To recommend: Bike hiring - John and Veronica Hall, nice and helpful bike people.

    We would return!

Cornelia, Lilian, Marlene (7) & Leonard (3) - Hamburg, Germany / Haderslev, Denmark.

La Mancelliere is a lovely quiet place. Had a lovely week. We wish you both the very best with all your plans for the future, will have lovely memories, thank you from all our family.

    Teresa Philpotts - Wirral, England.

Sixteen of us stayed for a week at La Mancelliere in both houses and had a fantastic time!! Great days out exploring France and nights in with wine, BBQ and good food. A big thank you to Ged & Lisa for letting us stay in your beautiful house, it is a fantastic place to stay and will leave us all with great family memories (the kids will miss the chickens and collecting the eggs). We don’t want to go home and will be sure to return!! Many thanks.

Watson, Philpotts & Tasker Family - Merseyside, England.

From the moment that we arrived Ged and Lisa were extremely friendly and welcoming. The Farmhouse itself was wonderful and well equipped with everything that our party of 13 could have possibly needed (we ranged from 9 months old to ...well, lets just say a lot older). The children took full advantage of the beautiful garden and our 4 year old especially loved going to see the sheep and helping Ged and Lisa collect the hens’ eggs. We couldn't recommend this property highly enough. Don't hesitate, book it if you have the chance. It was a great base to allow us all to explore Normandy and Brittany, two weeks just wasn’t enough!

Two of the best weeks spent as a family in a fantastic house. Great place to visit. Too much to do and too little time to do it. Will be back to start a new adventure. Thanks for all your help and wonderful accommodation.

Gibson & Hannah families - North England.

Our second visit to La Mancelliere!

Best beach by far is Saint-Lunaire Rue de Longchamp, free parking, clean toilets and a beach-side cafe that does nice snacks and fries that taste so good after a swim.

A safe place for children to run around in. A star gazer’s paradise on a clear night, this place is an ideal retreat from everyday pace of life. Our thanks to Lisa & Ged for being such good and helpful hosts. Only 48 weeks to go before we return with ALL the family!

The Pye family - Liverpool & Streatham.

A beautiful place! The kids have enjoyed collecting the eggs from the chickens and playing in the gardens. They say thank you for letting them borrow the bikes and toys in the shed. We have found many things to do nearby and would love to come back again. Thank you very much for a lovely holiday. The outdoor space has been fabulous! Peace & quiet!

Liz, Sam, Ellie, William and Dylan - Castlethorpe, MK, England.

Thank you for providing such a serene break at La Mancelliere. The past three nights have helped us recharge our batteries after our hectic touring of Europe. The surrounds, atmosphere and your beautiful gite have all combined to make this a truly memorable moment in our 4 week holiday. We will be recommending your stay as a must for future Aussie travellers. Thank you again for providing such beautiful gardens to stroll around in, the tranquil setting and the most comfortable and clean accommodation which gave us so much space. We loved our 2 days of travelling through countryside discovering beautiful small villages and of course Le Mont St. Michel!!

Anne & Mark Smith - NSW, Australia.

Thank you for all your help providing such a fantastic Christmas with the whole of our family. We had both properties and had great fun with everyone joining in. We have seen some great towns and cities on our days out. The farmhouse and villa are very nice and we have decided to come back as we would love to see the gardens in the summer. We wish you all the best for the future.

Julie & Richard Cooper - Fordingbridge, Hampshire, UK.

A lovely weekend break. Very pleasant. Enjoyed the peace and quiet in the garden.

I can certainly see why you fell in love with this place. Lisa & Ged you are perfect hosts in a perfect place in the world. Thank you so much. Good luck with the future & may it be filled with happiness & blessings. Jodie.

J’ai fait un séjour magnifique, merci. Vous avez été sensational. Je le recommanderai ŕ mes amis. Cheers mate, Steve.

Jodie & Steven - Newcastle, Australia.

Brilliant place, nice and clean. Lots of room for the youngsters to run around in.

We have enjoyed a wonderful week. The weather was kind, Lisa & Ged even kinder and the accommodation very comfortable and just what we were looking for. The outdoor space suited the children admirably. An ideal spot for a big family get-together.

The Cooper family - all 13 of us over 4 generations - Huby, York.

We have all had a fantastic time. Peace and quiet for the grown ups, chickens & sheep for the little ones. A great base to explore Normandy. Many thanks to Ged & Lisa for looking after us.

Ruth, Rich, Charlotte & Joseph (both nearly two!) - London.

La Mancelličre is a lovely quiet place in a lovely little village. We have had a great holiday and seen some beautiful places and buildings. The two girls enjoyed playing in the garden and splashing in the paddling pool. Our favourite places were Ange Michel and Zoo de Champrepus and would also recommend a stroll around the market at St Hilaire. A real must though is a visit to Omaha beach for the D-Day Landings. Thank you Ged & Lisa, you were both very helpful and a lovely couple.

Sue, Ste, Emily & Melisse Bourne - Runcorn, England.

Grazie Lisa & Ged per la gentilezza con la quale ci avete accolto. E’ stata una bellissima vacanza, abbiamo visto dei bellissimi luoghi, ed era un piacere ogni sera ritornare alla tranquillitŕ della Mancelličre.

(Thank you Lisa & Ged for your warm welcome, we had a wonderful holiday. We have seen lots of beautiful places and it was a pleasure to come back every evening to the peace and quiet of La Mancelličre.)

Patrizia, Marco & Penny - Siena, Italia.

We have enjoyed our week here at the farmhouse. The garden was lovely, the cherries were yummy, the town was charming and you were so gracious. It has been a fun and delicious way for our group to bond.

Keating, Alterman, Ziek, Brand, Yankus-Eng and Jordan - Maryland, USA.

When the Vikings came back to Normandy... they certainly had a tremendous time!

We want to thank you both for a wonderful week at La Mancelličre. As we have had a very busy schedule we have not had enough time to relax on the property, but we have really enjoyed breakfast & dinner in the garden, and games on the lawns, also talking to the sheep at the fence!

Mont St Michel, St Malo & Aquarium, Granville, the beaches on the coast, the 5 D-Day Landing museums / beaches - all have been a wonderful experience for us all. St Hilaire, the market, La Daminaco restaurant etc were all enjoyable. In Buais the patisserie has been a delight every morning, the tennis court has been fun in the evening and we met a lot of friendly French people who have been very patient with our French vocab!!!

Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Hanne Avîn, Stefan, Alan, Ari & Kari Hamre EK - Sarpsborg, Norway.

Beautiful! We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay. Thank you for everything!

June, Marc, Ryan, Lise, Chris, Isabelle, Genevieve & Leonce - New Brunswick, Canada.

A very relaxing location after the congestion of Paris. Mont St Michel, Cancale & Dinan were our favourite areas & would warrant a return trip. However, for more local attractions, special mention must be made of the Wednesday market at St. Hilaire.

Many thanks to Ged & Lisa for their hospitality & very accurate weather forecasts!

The Robson Family - Holywood, Co. Down, N. Ireland.

Our long awaited holiday to La Mancelličre has finally happened. Thank you! A beautiful farmhouse, a fantastic garden and very gracious hosts. Enjoying the log fire in July was a pure bonus! We will be back!!!

Fantastic place to stay and a good base to discover Normandy. Ged & Lisa are the perfect hosts. The week has flown by but enjoyed every minute of it.

Perfect for adults and children alike. Lovely place to stay - didn’t want to leave! Masses to see and do, and then our lovely house and gardens to come back to. Lisa and Ged excellent hosts. Fabulous holiday, thank you.

Peacocks and McMartins - Kent and Somerset, UK.

Our family have enjoyed two lovely weeks here at La Mancelličre. Lisa and Ged have been amazing in every way & the gift on our wedding anniversary was so sweet!

The girls have loved every aspect of this holiday - days out at the zoo & water parks to playing tennis in the beautiful gardens. My husband and I have found our surroundings very relaxing; the villa is very cosy and homely!

Eva & William Andrews, Elysia, Romi & Honey - Crawley, England.

Week 1 - Enjoyed the variety of places to visit from Mont St Michel to Domfront and the cascades at Mortain. Witnessed THE most spectacular thunderstorm from horizon to horizon which cut the power and took us all back to how people lived with no TV or WiFi!!

Week 2 - Beaches on most days as the weather settled to a steady sunny and warm situation. Dinard the best for sand and rock pools. Thanks to Lisa & Ged for providing such wonderful & peaceful surroundings and good advice on where to go. This is truly a lovely way to spend a family holiday!

Colin & Helen Pye, Max (4), Nina (2). Steven & Dot Pye - Streatham & Liverpool, England.

The week has gone by much too quickly. We have enjoyed it here so much. All the adults but especially our little one enjoyed the fabulous garden every day for play & relaxation. The house is so full of character, it has been such a pleasure to live in it for our week. There are so many places to visit in the surrounding area. Our favourite was Fougčres.

Cal, Dave & Andrew, Danny, Kirsty & Lincoln - Billinge, Nr Wigan, England.

A great place to recharge our batteries during this long weekend stay. We enjoyed our days visiting the delightful sights of Fougčres (chateau), Mortain (cascades) & Granville and we loved our cosy autumnal evenings watching selections from Lisa & Ged’s DVD collection. Many thanks!

Martin, Clara, Kit & Francis Cronin - Ploubezre, Brittany, France.

We had a lovely week here at La Mancelličre. Two lovely cycles in the area in sunny autumnal weather. Lots of hills!! Two shorter cycles around Le Mont St. Michel - much flatter & easier but with great views of the bay & Mont St. Michel. A visit to the Chateau/fortress at Fougčres was very interesting and a great insight into the history of the area. Thanks to Lisa & Ged for a lovely welcome to comfortable, warm and very well-equipped accommodation.

The O’Neill Family - Waterford, Ireland.

Thanks for being so welcoming and helping to make this such a fantastic week. What a good idea to celebrate our “special” birthdays here. Brilliant fun in a fab place.

Fantastic time - very relaxing. Beautiful place. Thanks to you both. Highly recommended.

Alan & Jan (& friends), Irby, Wirral, England.

Brilliant holiday accommodation, thanks. Something for us all but the six girls just wanted to stay here... we managed to visit some local towns and the market in St Hilaire on Wednesday was worth a visit. Loved our meals in the evening all sitting round the table, wonderful.

Marion, Bob & Lucie Dann (& family), Horsham, West Sussex, England.

We had a lovely week. Ged & Lisa are great hosts and always willing to oblige! Weather was amazing for April, we only had two showers of rain the whole week.

Cancale was pretty and the mussels were delicious. The highlight of the week was Arromanches and Longues-sur-Mer. The museum and 360° Cinema are well worth the entrance fee. Good luck for the future and I hope that the seeds all grow into lovely vegetables!!

Penny & Ceri Harris, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.

We celebrated our Ruby Wedding in your lovely farmhouse, thank you many, many times. - Thanks for a wonderful time, enjoying the singing birds, bleating sheep and beautiful flowers in the garden - we enjoyed our stay in your lovely house! The kids were very happy too!! A lot of nice memories to take home...

Rad & Diet, Bennekom, Holland. - Henjo & Hester, Judith(5) & Dianthe(3), Den Haag, Holland.

Lovely old house! We enjoyed it very much: Cooking in the open kitchen for ten, chatting at the fireplace under ‘Anna’ - Surely the finest of French retreats - We enjoyed it very much, especially the sounds of the chickens and the lovely sheep. Dank jullie wel!

Mark & Saxa, Porthmadog, Wales, UK - Meike, Rotterdam, Holland & Dada, Shanghai, China.

A second lovely stay at La Mancelliere and we’re sure it won’t be our last. Again we struggled to pack everything in but we’ve had a really good go. From lazy days in elegant St Malo and Dinard to great days for the boys at the Enchanted Village and Alligator Bay. Then of course, as the heat headed skywards on Thursday and Friday, two beautiful days on the beaches of Normandy and Brittany. It is always wonderful to end a holiday on a high note and that is certainly the case with our day on Anse du Verger followed by an early evening aperitif and dinner overlooking the harbour at Cancale - beautiful!

Louise & Lee Clifford with James (6) and Alastair (3), Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England.

La Mancelliere was superb. Nice garden, as well as the accommodation. We found Fougeres and Mortain especially beautiful and interesting medieval cities. One also should pay a visit to Cancale and St Malo. The food was exceptionally fine. The market at St Hilaire de Harcouet on Wednesdays is worth paying a visit. - A special plus to all the supermarkets in the surroundings because the food dishes are very tempting (especially the fish department as well as the winery). Everything has been an adventure, now heading back to Paris!

Kim, Nina & Kasimir Kiuru and Ritva Nordberg-Koivunen, Tuusula Finland.

Fantastic! Great location. Beautiful home. Gracious hosts. Thank you from all 13 of us.

    North Hampshire Scooter Group.

We stayed here for two weeks; eight adults and 8 children, aged 7 years - 3 months. The house was perfect for all of us, especially we enjoyed the kitchen and the garden - which was excellent and safe for small children - the sheep and the cherries!! L’Ange Michel water park was great fun for children of all ages! Thanks Lisa & Ged for your hospitality and your kindness! We will certainly recommend this wonderful house to family and friends. Thanks!

Bo, Nete, Arthur, Frida & friends, Copenhagen, Denmark.

We have spent five wonderful weeks here. The villa is spacious and cosy. Buais is a very nice little village. Don’t miss the ‘boulangerie’. Thank you Lisa and Ged for your help and advice. We wish you good luck for the future!

Jukka, Taina, Fanny & Tia-Maria Virtanen, Espoo, Finland.

We have had a fine time here at La Mancelliere with well equipped, comfortable accommodation and excellent hosts in Ged and Lisa. From beaches near Cancale to the Chateau at Fougeres, waterfalls at Mortain, a bell foundry at Villedieu les Poeles, the pottery museum at Ger (and we visited the restaurant opposite the church in Ger, 11€ for 5 courses!) and the Apple and Pear Museum, all are within easy reach of Buais. We only wish we could stay longer... Thank you Ged and Lisa for a lovely final week to our holiday.

Jo, Kevin, Zoe & Sam, Wigan, England.

It was a lovely villa and lovely hosts for a lovely week in Normandy. The villa is ideally situated for excursions to points north, south, east and west. We enjoyed trips to St. Malo & Cancale, Mont St Michel, Fougeres and the D-Day beaches as well as exploring nearby.

Kathleen & Ellie Talbot, Colleen Cannon & Bethan Seul, Chicago, IL / Charlotte N.C, USA.

A brilliant place for a Christmas with family. Wonderful living room & kitchen for us all to get together. Visited the Christmas lights at Mantilly, Beauchene which, if you’re bringing kids, are well worth visiting. Other days out included St. Malo, Fougeres, Domfront, Granville... so many places.

Chandlers - Holmfirth. Berry - Rochester, Kent. Euerons, Blandford Forum, Dorset.

We’ve had a lovely relaxing time and the accommodation was fabulous – everything we could possibly need and such a high standard of decoration and cleanliness. We enjoyed some great days out but also some lovely days locally – cycling to the nearby villages for morning coffee and afternoons in the garden.

Anna and Rufus Brunt, Manchester, UK.

From the rain soaked city of Cambridge a family of four set sail to find a week of adventure in the heart of Normandy. Under brilliant blue skies, laden with plump white clouds we spent a relaxing week at La Mancelličre. A trip to the beach to search for crabs, a climb to the top of Mont St Michel for moules et frites, a walk in the forest to hunt for wombats! And always to be greeted by our smiling hosts Ged & Lisa. Perfick! Thank you.

Roy, Jenny, Dean & Max, Cambridge.

We had a wonderful time here. The house was perfect for our two families beautiful yet practical, we had everything we needed. There’s been loads to see in the region - Mont St Michel, Dinard beach, St Malo, the local market, Domfront - all excellent, but what was really special was not feeling you had to go out to enjoy the day as we spent much needed relaxing time in the garden and in this beautiful home. Thank you Ged & Lisa!

La Famille Allouis, de Cambridge, Grand Bretagne.

We have all enjoyed a wonderful week’s holiday here at La Mancelliere. The farmhouse is really comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished and wonderfully clean! The grounds are also fabulous. The children particularly enjoyed playing in the garden. The farmhouse is not only a great place to return to after a long day out sightseeing, but a lovely place to spend the whole day! Thank you Lisa and Ged for your hospitality! We hope to return one day!

...Guests noted information on things to see and do nearby...

All made possible by the location of La Mancelliere and all made more enjoyable by Ged & Lisa. Wonderful accommodation to rest in after a hard day’s touring, beautiful home from home. Garden for children to rest in and pester the nicknamed ‘Farmer Ged’ and ‘lovely Lisa’ (Ted aged 2).

Scott & Sally Bisset - Bill & Ted, Nth Yorks, England.

Wonderful accommodation, Ged & Lisa were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Very homely, great ‘away from it all’ location but within easy reach of our needs. During our stay the weather was fantastic, spent most of our holiday on the beautiful beaches around the bay of Mont St Michel. Great base to explore the beautiful countryside and historic towns of both Normandy and Brittany. Good time was had by all and we will certainly recommend La Mancelliere to friends and family.

Lyn & Peter Hughes - Jacob, Harry & Libby, Wallasey, Merseyside.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful place. Having stayed in many villas, gites and cottages, it is so nice to walk into a spotless and welcoming place. The children loved playing in the garden and we enjoyed ourselves so much we are now moving next door for a week and hoping to book to come back at New Year. Thank you for everything.

One week was not enough in this lovely place. Best beach can be found at Anse du Verger - take your own picnic! Enchanted village - great fun - zip wires a must!!

Ged & Lisa - fab hosts. Can’t wait to come back for a two week hol next year. Miss it already.

Glenn, Sue, Grace & Josie Briggs/Garvey, Wakefield, Yorkshire.

What a nice place to spend a short break! Despite the mixed bag of weather we found plenty to do, all within easy reach of the gite. The Auberge at the entrance to The Enchanted Village we can highly recommend - had one of our best meals there.

Really lovely hosts & made us feel very welcome. Great accommodation & nice big garden for Thomas to run around in.

Mark, Kirsty & Thomas Lawday, Charlton, nr Andover, Hampshire.

Great cosy gite - perfect for a quiet relaxing break end of season. Beautiful property and amazing garden. Loved the tee-light candles. Comfy beds and luxurious duvet! Exceptionally welcoming and accommodating hosts. Easy reach of Mont St. Michel. Enjoyed ‘Calva’ tasting in Domfront and market day in St. Hilaire.

Thanks for a lovely holiday, house & garden have been fantastic. Will definitely recommend .
