Description
La Source Tranquille is our oasis of calm just steps from the centre of the small Picardie town of Mouy. Whilst you can relax in the peace of our fully enclosed garden you are just minutes walk from the village centre with its bakers and other shops. The town in perfectly located being just 25 minutes drive from the tourist attractions of Beauvais, Chantilly and Senlis. Paris is just one hours drive away, or you can walk to the train station to be at Paris Gare du Nord within 50 minutes. The beaches and coastal ports of the Pas de Calais are within two hours.
Cycling is a special attraction of Picardie, which almost always features in the Tour de France early stages. Mouy is excellently placed for cycling, with many routes centred on the town. We offer facilities for storing bicycles and for maintaining them.
Picardie offers many attractions, being the land of cathedrals. There is much history on offer from cathedral towns like Beauvais, Senlis, Arras and Amiens to First and Second world war sites like Compiegne, the Somme and Arras. There are attractions for children all within an hour like Parc Asterix and Disneyland Paris, and of course Paris itself just 60km away.

Location description
Picardie, the land of cathedrals is the ancient heart of France. From the city of kings in Senlis in the south through to the the battlefields of the Somme in the north it hosts some of the major landmarks of France. The weather is similar to the south of England, with warm lazy summer days and cold winters. However, no matter what the weather there is always something to do, from the beaches in the north to Paris just to the south.

The area is perfect for cycling with many routes already mapped on sites like bikemap.net.
Tourist attractions
Beauvais has a large cathedral and many shops, along with a small museum charting the history of the RAF at Beauvais airport during WWII. The nearby town of Chantilly has a very famous chateau and racecourse whilst Senlis, an old walled city, has the cathedral that saw the crowning of many early French kings.
Directions
Ryanair flies into Beauvais which is 25 minutes away and most other large airlines fly into Paris CDG, just 45 minutes away. Both airports have a large choice of rental car companies. By car we are just over 2 hours from the ferry ports at Calais, and just one hour's drive from Paris itself. Trains arrive in our village just 500m or so from the gîte, with just one change to be made from Paris Nord.
