Description
Set in 9 acres of tranquil garden and fields, Le Petit Chambon is a spacious 100sqm, single storey, stone gite, set within a large courtyard. It is bordered by open barns and a summer kitchen. The private swimming pool has great views of the surrounding countryside and is for your sole use.
Situated between the small, sleepy village of Gabillou and the hamlet of Pauliac and nestling in the peaceful countryside of the Perigord Noir, Le Petit Chambon provides an ideal base from which to visit the many attractions of the Dordogne. Whether it's visiting Montignac, Perigueux, Sarlat or canoeing on the Vezere, or vieing stunning pre-historic caves ie; the Lascaux caves, Les Grottes at Tourtoirac, or even cycling around the local villages and lots more.
The gite has been fully renovated, tiled throughout and has good views onto the courtyard. The lounge is spacious, with a large wood burner and fully equipped "cuisine americane". If you fancy trying a few new recipes whilst you are here we are happy to provide additional equipment and herbs and spices. Or if you just want to relax and eat out you can visit one of local restaurants which are a short drive away.
When renovated the gite was designed with disabled guests in mind and all rooms are wheelchair friendly (including the bathroom facilities).
The bedroom is light and airy and can be set up with either a double bed and additional single or if you and your friends are travelling together, 3 singles. The gite has a spacious "wet room" style shower and wc, plus a separate wc and basin.
There is also a laundry room with washing machine. Bedlinen and towels are all provided and changed weekly including pool towels (we don't want you to have to add extra luggage just to pack towels!).
Relax around the pool, or read a book sitting at the pretty blue table and chairs in the courtyard or take a deckchair and find a shady spot in the garden. There is ample private parking near to the gite. Also a great supply of books and dvd's if you don't want to bring your own.

Touristic sites: natural caves in Tourtoirac (7 km), medieval castle in Hautefort (6 km) Lascaux prehistoric caves (20 km) and many other prehistoric and historic sites within a 30 km perimeter.
Directions
There are several airports serving the Perigord Noir - Bergerac, Limoges and Bordeaux.
Limoges and Bergerac are both about 1 hour 15 minutes away from the house. Limoges to the north and Bergerac to the south. From the UK you can fly with either Ryanair or Flybe from various airports to Limoges and Bergerac.
Brive Airport is newly opened to the UK, in 2014 with Ryanair & Jet2 flying various Airports in the UK. Brive Airport is located in Nespouls, south of Brive and not far from the A20 Autoroute and 45 minutes from Les Chambons.
Bordeaux is 2 hours away and is served by Ryanair and Easyjet.
You can get to Les Chambons easily by car either from the N89 at Thenon or from the D704 from Limoges.
The closest train station is in Thenon, 7 km from Les Chambons. The train stations of Périgueux and Brive la Gaillarde are respectively 34 km and 53 km away (SNCF).
