    Description

    Casa Miguel is a rustically restored farmhouse which retains many original features, beamed ceilings and stone floors. The house has 3 bedrooms and two shower rooms (one of which is en suite) and the capacity to sleep 6 people.
    The front door leads into a traditional Spanish kitchen/diner which leads through into the living room with log burner. Stairs give access to a double bedroom with Spanish bed and then through into a twin bedroom which has separate access via the upper terrace. The third bedroom with en suite shower room is accessed via the main terrace.

    Outside there is ample space for dining /sunbathing and relaxing by the pool, with BBQ and an additional shaded seating area on the lower terrace and a further upper terrace. The shady poolside lounge offers a welcome respite from the summer sun.

    Montefrio voted no4 in National Geographics list of the worlds most beautiful views, is just 10mins away by car where you will find many tapas bars/restaurants, shops, bakeries, banks, and pharmacies
    .A visit to La Villa a Moorish Castle perched upon the rocky pinnacle overlooking Montefrio is a must. Montefrio also boast a 18th century round church and Penas de los Gitanos a rocky scarp containing an archaeological site of a megalithic settlement.

    The surrounding area is perfect for country walks/rambling/hiking and is very popular with cyclist, artists and climbers. The area is also perfect for bird watching with the Golden Oriel being one of many regular visitors. Horse riding around the Parapanda mountain can be arranged.

    Just 1 hours drive away is the beautiful city of Granada. Visit the world famous Alhambra Palace or ski/hike in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
    Malaga beach is just over an hour away, and Rhonda, Antequera, Seville and Cordoba are all within easy driving distance.

    Location description

    The visual power of the landscape and architecture of Montefro seduce from the first moment. The first thing that makes an impression is the imposing monumental set that forms the Arab fortress "la Villa" the round church in the village centre and the Convent set on the opposite hill, a view not to be missed.

    The impressive Pea de los Gitanos, just outside the village is set on a high rocky bluff with terraces and oak woods, and contains one of the most interesting archaeological sites in the Poniente Granadino. Almost a hundred Megalithic tombs can be observed here, with dolmens of up to 8 meters in length forming part of three necropolis.
    Buena vista is a beauty spot overlooking Montefrio, popular with locals for picnics. The views from the ridge are spectacular and far reaching with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains possible on clear days. An ornithologists paradise and a must for orchid enthusiasts.

    Other activities

    Site seeing in nearby Alcala la Real with its Moorish Church is a must. Just 20mins drive.
