    Description

    James Tymons is a late 19th century farmhouse cottage set in 30 acres by the banks of the Owenmore river. The cowbire,haybarn and old stone buildings enhance the feel of this old cottage

    We have many paths and tracks leading from the cottage through the trees and along by the riverbank to the stone walled fields and meadows beyond. Ideal for quiet walks and relaxation after returning from exploring the beautiful and varied landscape of Yeats country or attractions such as the Eagle flying centre, King house and farmers markets.

    In the evenings relax as we do with turf fires in the living room and old Stanley stove in the dining room or stroll to the village to enjoy traditional Irish music in the local pubs.(after all this is the heart of traditional Irish music in Co Sligo)

    Our patio with its garden furniture and BBQ are perfect for those lazy sunny evenings. Enjoy a glass of wine or beer as the BBQ is prepared or have lunch at our picnic table in a secluded spot by the river bank.

    The cottage is beautifully looked after with everything we needed for a relaxed holiday.there is so much to see when walking around the land on which this house sits.Gurteen is close enough to walk to and is surrounded by some of the best senery in Ireland

    We booked James Tymons cottage for three nights but ended up staying four because we didn't want to leave The property is in a great location and returning to this lovely setting at the end of the day was perfect.We took our dog with us and she loved running and playing in the open spaces. We will be going back and taking family or friends with us.
