"Poggio Cantarello"
A stone and brick country home dated back to 1800, placed on one sweet knoll, dipped in the calm and the green of the Tuscany countryside.
We are to 5 minutes from the A1 Motorway, between the Etruscan city of Chiusi and the important thermal village of Chianciano Terme.
The Rooms
Poggio Cantarello has two rooms inside the house, and another - refurbished - set in an old bakery next door.
All rooms have different shapes and spaces, overlooking the surrounding countryside, beamed ceilings and are simply furnished with antique wardrobes and Arte Povera.
Each room has a bathroom, satellite TV, and minibar.
Environments
A living room with an old - and running - fireplace and a kitchenette are available for guests.

Location description
Not far from Siena
is the ideal place to spend your holidays in the countryside, for a romantic weekend or week end spa for relaxing rides, mountain biking, hiking in search of beauty and scents of the Tuscan countryside and its traditional products such as extra virgin olive oil, the excellent wine of Montepulciano and Montalcino, Pienza pecorino or just to enjoy the famous ribollita in a typical Tuscan farmhouses or restaurants in the area.
Chianciano and its spa:
the town of Chianciano Terme boasts one of the most famous and oldest spa towns in Italy. Used by the Etruscans and then the Romans, the Terme di Chianciano have never lost their popularity through the centuries, attracting visitors from all over Italy and abroad.
The thermal waters of Chianciano come from four sources: the Holy Water, the Fucoli and Sillene are sulfate, bicarbonate and calcium while Helena is bicarbonate-alkaline-earthy and of course have different use and application. Around four sources are developed for spas, each of which has functional structures the use of the water. Overall, the diseases that can be treated with excellent results, with the thermal waters of Chianciano are cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the urinary tract, metabolic disorders, diseases of the gastrointestinal and rheumatic diseases.
Not only care: the Terme di Chianciano, like other well known Italian, present themselves as true wellness and beauty where water and mud are put at the service of comfort and aesthetics. The same Grand Hotel Terme has a wellness center complete with heated indoor pool with whirlpool, sauna, gym and solarium, which offers visitors the opportunity to combine the beneficial effects of the thermal springs with different programs developed by specialists in fields of cardiology, hydrological, dietary, psychological and sports.
Montalcino, Pienza and the Val d'Orcia:
to make known the town of Montalcino, Brunello is one of the best red wines in the world. But Montalcino is also a magnificent city of art, from its hill that dominates the 3000 hectares of vineyards (1500 of which Brunello) that have given it fame and wealth.
A reputation in the Val d'Orcia it shares with Pienza, the city wanted to half of the fifteenth century by Pope Pius II, a native of the nearby medieval castle of Corsignano, as a laboratory to give forms constructed utopia of the ideal city.
Everything in Val d'Orcia, evokes history, art, culture. Among its many hills and cypress, for example, rose one of the most important "paths of faith" in Europe, around which in the Middle Ages arose churches and abbeys of extraordinary charm.
You are moving on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, you travel with a group of friends and we rely on a specialized agency, the ancient streets of Val d'Orcia offer a great variety of itineraries.
One way certainly original and fascinating to explore the Val d'Orcia is to use, in the period from spring to autumn, the "Nature Train" that runs along the railway line that connects Siena and the Monte Antico station and Grosseto, passing Asciano, Torrenieri and Asso valley for many years abandoned by ordinary trains. Trains allow you to observe the hills and woods, they stop at all stations, allow you to visit villages and monuments and between festivals, food festivals, and concerts by choirs and bands, the journey ends sometimes assume the character of a traveling show other times. Suggestions that are amplified by boarding the train which is sometimes composed of "periwinkle" of the fifties and sometimes from old cars "centoporte" third class, with wooden seats, pulled by puffing steam locomotives of the early twentieth century.
