Description
Middle Leys kitchen is truly beautiful and very well equipped; the white wood units and country style dresser feature a wide range of pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. There are even fun car-shaped egg cups and a picnic basket for days out on Exmoor.
Pretty patio doors from the kitchen lead to Middle Leys garden, which is located to the front of the cottage. This very nice garden is where you can enjoy a peaceful afternoon, reading a book or enjoying a traditional cream tea purchased from the local village shop in Withypool. The garden is fenced and mainly laid to lawn with just a few flowers around the edges. There is a table and chairs for outdoor meals, and in the summer a BBQ is available.
Guests at Middle Leys can also use the grassed area opposite the cottage, which is on a slight slope but is a nice space for children to play.

Location description
Approached by a shared country track (not suitable for vehicles with low suspensions), it is surrounded by the owners’ land, home to their animals and dogs.
There are several excellent eating places within easy reach, areas of oustanding natural beauty and rural heritage abounds, with one of the oldest bridges – Tarr Steps – within easy reach by a short car journey or for the more adventurous a vigorous walk or.
The River Barle and River Exe are within walking distance, while Dunster Castle and beach are just a short drive away.
Leys Cottage provides the perfect base for exploring, walking and hiking on Exmoor and the North Somerset and Devon coast with some glorious beaches.
The owners, who live in a separate part of the farm, can also arrange the following activities:
