Description
This is a lovely sunny cottage, facing south with views of the walnut orchard and Thiviers. Maison Thiviers offers two double bedrooms and one twin. The kitchen is a nice size and offers good facilities. The living room has two large sofas, TV, DVD, log burner and storage heaters making it ideal if you like to take your holidays out of season.
Maison Thiviers is a lovely spacious cottage, ideal for sharing with your friends, or just for those larger families. Perfect also for those who find stairs difficult, accommodation is spread out over the ground floor. Originally functioning as the Dairy where the butter and cheese was made for the main house, this has been renovated to retain the old charm but also gives the modern comforts required for a restful holiday, providing that cosy feel during the evenings if you choose to spend an evening in with a good book or film
This luxurious gte with its own private patio is part of Domaine Le Bost. With its eight-acre garden, Domaine le Bost is a childrens paradise. Children can use the table tennis table, go for a bicycle ride, play on the swings and take a dip in the above ground pool (32 feet * 16 feet), which is available for use on hot summer days. Domaine le Bost is located just outside the picturesque, medieval town of Thiviers, which can be enjoyed directly from your garden chair. Nestled atop a wooded hill, Thiviers is situated above the confluence of Perigord Vert and Perigord Blanc.

Location description
The quaint towns and villages, which add to the Dordognes tremendous appeal, are surrounded by an area of exquisite natural beauty. Indeed, the Perigord Vert region is said to be one of the loveliest regions in France and has much to offer visitors, including leisurely strolls and bicycle and horseback rides. Maps of scenic routes are certainly available. Less than 3 kilometres away, a lake for recreational purposes continues to prove itself to be particularly popular among children. Culture vultures can attend cultural events to their hearts content. Often identified as the most beautiful town of the Dordogne area, Jean de Cole is only 8 kilometres away. Brantome, with its Benedictine abbey, Periqeux and the vivid Nontron are also quite close. And the caves of Villars, which have one of the most extensive cave systems of the Dordogne with fascinating prehistoric cave drawings, are less than half an hour away.
Since its inception, roughly a millennium ago, Thiviers has been a place of pilgrimage for people journeying to Santiago de Compostela. While rambling through the area, you are sure to stumble upon signs and remnants of the age-old pilgrimage history of our town and its surroundings.
Local events
Thiviers is the capital of foie gras as you will easily discern from a visit to the Saturday market, frequented by many locals. During the summer months, you can enjoy Thivierss rich array of culinary delights including wine-festivals, night markets and more. We will happily advise you on the wealth of delicious foods available in the regions restaurants and outdoor cafs.
