Description
The Wood Shed not as the name suggests at all, it was originally an old cart house for the estate before it was sold off in lots.
The small granite cottage is cosy and warm and it has a downstairs double bedroom for those who don't want to use the upstairs, it has a large shower room downstairs and a small bathroom upstairs next to a twin bedroom.
The kitchen, dining and living area are all open plan centred around a wood burning stove.
It has a washing machine, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, microwave oven and conventional 4 ring electric hob and oven, there is also a Rayburn (smaller version like an Aga) which heats the water and towel rails.
There is a tv with inbuilt dvd player and a docking system for your ipod.
It stands in its own paddock overlooking open countryside peaceful but not remote.
There is a small BBQ for your use and a granite table and benches outside in the paddock.
We can buy in any provisions in readiness for your holiday.

Location description
Tavistock is an Ancient Stannary town, this means all the mined tin was brought to Tavistock to be stamped for its purity the main mode of transport was the canal. Sir Francis Drake was born at Crowndale in Tavistock and he has many links to Buckfast Abbey where recently a portrait of Rembrandt has been officially recognised as being painted by the master himself and worth 3m.
Dartmoor National Park is 368 square miles of wilderness with hut circles, old china clay workings and chimney stacks from the old tin mines and not forgetting the native wild Dartmoor ponies. Princetown nearby still has a prison which is now not a high security prison, it was built by local labourers for the Napoleonic prisoners of war.

Directions
Travelling by car you go briefly onto the A30 and come off at junction 31 signposted Okehampton and Bodmin you then come off where you see the sign for Tavistock continue on the A386 and as you approach Tavistock you turn left onto the B3357 signposted to Princetown we are on the left approximately half a mile up this road, right next to Mount Kelly. Or from Tavistock town take the A386 to Okehampton and then you will see the B3357 on your right and again we are half a mile along this road on the left.
