Stunning historical original Coastguard's cottage with sea and country views. The Cleveland Way coastal walk passes so you have cliff top walking almost on your doorstep.5 minutes walk takes you to the beautiful sandy beach of Saltburn, sea front pubs, a wonderful pier a variety of restaurants/cafes and the unspoilt Victorian town of Saltburn with its interesting selection of independent shops and galleries. You could walk, take the car (free parking) or use the historic water balanced cliff lift.
The cottage makes an ideal base for exploring The Yorkshire Heritage Coastline of Captain Cook Country either by car or a walking holiday. The fishing villages of Staithes, Runswick Bay, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are within easy reach. A short drive takes you to The North York Moors National Park and Heartbeat Country, or enjoy a day trip to York or Durham City.

Location description
A variety of walks from the door, The Cleveland Way long distance footpath passes nearby and takes you down to beach and woodland. Saltburn beach is a beautiful sandy beach stretching about 8 miles. There are rock pools to explore at the nearest end. A Victorian pier with a small amusement arcade, ice cream and fish & chip shop and restaurant. Also a historic pub called The Ship. A Victorian water balanced cliff lift transports people to the town of Saltburn on the cliff top. It is a quaint, quiet town with a variety of shops, pubs and cafes. It is on the Yorkshire Heritage Coastline with historic fishing villages to explore. The North York Moors National Park is within easy driving distance and the cities of Durham and York make for an interesting day out.

Regular Farmers Market over the summer months, Folk club which holds a festival every August, Blues club, July Food Festival, Vintage Fairs. 2 Theatres!

Directions
By car the nearest A road is A174. Nearest mainline station is Darlington. All airports have links to there. Change for Saltburn. Once there the the cottage is within walking distance but it's a hilly walk if carrying cases you can arrange to be collected or ring for a taxi. Please ask for details.
