    Description

    Located in the very centre of France yet only 90 minutes from Limoges International airport, on the boundaries of the Cher, Indre, Cruese (Limousin) and Allier Departments, you will find 'Chez Jabier' surrounded by Chateaux, Medieval towns, Ancient sites and many warm and friendly villages.

    Attached to the main house and set in private, child friendly grounds, (the owners and their children on hand daily), this recently renovated cottage with all modern amenities is perfect for relaxing and unwinding with family and friends. From the cottage terrace you can watch the family swimming in our 7m x 4m pool. Or why not take the mountain bikes along the many quiet lanes that surround the cottage?

    Long hot summer days are great to spend at our private, and very secret, fishing lake with a bottle of wine and a picnic.
    As yet, this is a relatively undiscovered part of France. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life. With Sunflower fields around every corner and sleepy villages along every lane. The cottage is set in an acre of land with the Grand Chateau a short stroll along the lane, and local towns offering modern amenities - banks, shops, restaurants, leisure centre etc - 10 minutes in either direction.

    There are plenty of things to do in the area whether it be swimming at the local lake complete with life guards, beaches, pedalos, canoeing and picnic areas, horse riding or visiting the modern leisure centre in town with water slides, children's pools and outdoor pools, golfing is available at the nearby 4 star hotel/golf course. Walking and cycling are very popular locally and the area has many well mapped walking trails.

    We have access to the 4 star golf course nearby with all the facilities offered by a 4 star hotel. The green fees are incredibly low for the quality of the course, and most days a round of golf could be undisturbed.
    However the most popular leisure activity at Chez Jabier is relaxing with the kids followed by a bottle of locally produced wine watching the sun set across the valley.

    The cottage has a well equipped modern kitchen with a new 'range style' cooker set in the old fireplace, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, all utensils and kitchenware, plates, cups etc (and high chair if required).
    The table and chairs is for the family to enjoy typical French breakfasts together, or you can eat out on the terrace, right outside your front door. A welcome basket is provided for every new guest including a bottle of wine.

    The traditional oak beamed living area is light and airy with a large traditional wood burner, comfortable and well furnished including Sky TV, video player, dvd player, plus access to a large library of films, books and games. The window looks over the patio and grounds to the front of the cottage with a view of the swimming pool and valley beyond.

    The bathroom contains bath, sink and walk in shower cubicle.
    The first double bedroom is large and airy with oak beams and plenty of furniture for storage.
    The second large double bedroom has French doors leading to the patio area at the front of the cottage. This room has a double and a single bed and is generally used as a family/children's room. It also has a tv/video with Disney/kids films, toys, books and games. A travel cot is also available.
    Both the bedrooms can be changed on request to accommodate either small children or adults, i.e. single beds, travel cot or extra put you up beds.

    To the front of the cottage is a raised south-facing terrace complete with patio furniture and BBQ. This overlooks the garden. From here you can see the swimming pool and sun trap terrace, kids' play area, pets corner and traditional French barn.

    The Barn holds a 'Kids Den' full of toys and games, books and Xbox room, where the children can participate in lots of fun activities (to escape or play with Mum and Dad). And there are of mountain bikes for most ages to help you explore the local countryside.
    Just down the lane we have a secluded fishing lake surrounded by pine trees and woods, ideal for picnics and lazy summer days. For Carp and Perch and the average catch per carp is 10lb. Float fishing equipment can be found in the barn and Carp rods available upon request for those more experienced fishermen or women. Why not bring your own?

    Tour the local Chateau, a trip to the Les Pierres Jaumatres, with huge lumps of granite that simply defy gravity, the Adventure in the trees, swing ropes, high catwalks and zip lines, city of Montlucon has hundreds of shops, bars and Chateau or lake of Treignat for swimming, fishing, boating or just relax. A holiday home perfect for everyone whether your ideal break is a quiet relaxing 'get away from it all' holiday or whether you're the type that likes to get out and about and explore then this is the ideal base for you.
