Ratty's Retreat self-catering holiday cottage is ideally suited for just two people. The property is a charming barn conversion, built in beautiful Cotswold stone, which has been recently refurbished. It is on 2 floors, the upper galleried floor being reached via a spiral staircase. It sits in communal grounds giving access to the lovely brook and has its own private patio area.
The open plan ground floor is furnished in a contemporary style and has a well equipped galley kitchen with electric double oven & 4 ring ceramic hob, fridge/freezer & all the accessories one will need for a week away. This extends to the dining area which in turn opens up into the lounge area, which has a freeview television and DVD player & a wireless iphone/ipod dock for music. A downstairs cloakroom off of the entry completes the downstairs area.
A stylish spiral staircase takes you up to the first floor with a luxuriously furnished galleried bedroom with an antique, king-size, half tester bed, along with an additional wall mounted T.V. Adjacent to the bedroom is a large, bright, en suite bathroom with full size bath, shower over bath and WC.
Outside a there is a small private patio and garden area, benefiting from its sunny position, which is ideal for relaxing at the end of the day.The communal grounds are open to all guests and lead down to a tranquil area alongside the rippling brook with its magnificent overhanging willow tree. There is allocated parking for guests within the grounds too.

Location description
The cottage is set in communal grounds known as Lower Farm Cottages, School Lane, Blockley. This is reached via the B4479 from Bourton on the Hill.
Tourist attractions
There are a wide array of English Heritage and National Trust properties in the Cotswolds that are all within easy reach. There are many other wildlife parks, gardens and arboretums. Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon, Birmingham and Bath are also possible day trips.
Directions
The village of Blockley can be found just off the A44 between Moreton in Marsh and Broadway on the way to Evesham. The closest motorway link would be the M5 or M40
