An absolutely fabulous cottage
This was possibly the most peaceful and tranquil holiday we've ever had. The location was superb as was the surrounding countryside and the scenery was breathtaking. The property was fabulous and just what we were after. The owners Steve and Karen were lovely people, very friendly and helpful with advice on walks and places to go and see. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and because there are so many walks on the doorstep that we could do with the dogs, we will be going back.

Absolutely fantastic stay- the cottage is attached but separate from the main house for a private getaway. Lovely views with 2 resident dogs (very friendly) and geese, chicken, and a variety of birds via the mainly bird feeders. The cottage was spacious, warm and had everything you need. Bed and sofas were extremely comfortable which you need after a long day's hike! We brought our 2 dogs and they had the most amazing time.

The cottage was lovely, a lot of thought had gone into making us feel welcome, attention to detail was excellent. Even our dog Millie was provided for i.e. Feeding & water bowl plus towels for muddy paws. Plenty of walks on the fells on the doorstep. Will recommend to family and friends.

One of the best properties we have stayed in in 3 decades of 1 or 2 cottages per year. Easy to find (on the main (very quiet) main road. excellent parking by the cottage. Very well laid out and spacious and comfortable interior. Clean and tidy with plenty of lighting and sockets. Spacious bathroom with easy to use shower next to the bedrooms across the landing. The staircase was a work of art - superb oak treads and newel posts. The wood burner was easy to light and gave excellent heat with no mess - and extra logs from across the yard, rather than going out looking. The electric cooker operation was not obvious but the helpful instruction sheet which enabled us to the landing had two chairs set out to watch the very varied birds who came to visit the three feeders strung across a few feet away. Chaffinches, green finches and a wren and a tree creeper when we arrived - and we are not birders. No red squirrels as it is not the season. The location was very convenient - midway between Kirkby Stephen and Sedbergh and you could easily walk to Fell end Clouds for views across to Harter Fell and Wild Baugh Fell. The owners were friendly and helpful - all told an excellent cottage.

Fab cottage, out of the way so quiet and peaceful. Well
equipped and perfect for a restful stay.Confirmed guest: 20 December 2017
This was a perfect cottage. We fell in love with it and have rebooked next year. Everything about it was so lovely. It was remote, so could only give a low rating to local amenities, but Sedbergh had everything you could want and was about 4 miles away. Confirmed guest:
