WATERSIDE LODGE, North Cornwall, Near Boscastle, Tintagel, Beaches & Bodmin Moor
WATERSIDE LODGE is an English Heritage oak-beamed home, with a riverside garden, a picket fence & relaxing country views over the river.
This self-catering property is set in a tranquil valley on the edge of the River Inny, in a select, gated, managed development, with Tintagel & Boscastle nearby. The garden adjoins the river. The lodge is close to the North Cornwall coast, situated on the edge of Bodmin/Davidstow Moor. Come to enjoy the peaceful setting, listening to the river flowing by. Enjoy wonderfully relaxing evenings with a glass of wine; see some beautiful night skies away from city light pollution. Bodmin Moor has now been designated an International Dark Sky Reserve. In the clear night skies with the naked eye, visitors can see, the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy millions of years back in time. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor, (1 with a King sized bed and TV, the other with 2 single beds), and a third bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed. A Travel Cot, mattress and bottom sheet are provided - please bring any other associated bedding you require. There is a very comfortable open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area. The lodge is decorated for our Christmas guests, and Santa does not forget the children.
There is heating throughout, and all radiators have their own thermostatic, timed controls. The lounge area has a gas stove (wood burner effect) and is very comfortable and cosy for those winter breaks.
There are heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Together with excellent insulation, this makes the lodge an ideal property to visit during the colder months. It looks extremely pretty when everywhere is frosted over and just as lovely when covered in snow .
There is an onsite tennis court, and racquets and balls are provided, together with beach equipment for the children.
It is Ideally located for both North and South coasts of Cornwall. Visit beautiful spring and summer gardens. See sheep or cows grazing on the meadow over the river, and the abundant wildlife: listen to the variety of visiting birds - Kingfishers have been spotted on the river near the lodge garden, goldfinches nest in the honeysuckle by the gate and nuthatches nest in nearby trees. Stunning land and seascapes, quaint seaside villages, superb sunsets and unpolluted night sky. Cosy pubs/restaurants in Winter. Short breaks, variable changeovers and out of season reductions for 2/3 persons, (excl. school holidays, and any offers).

Location description
The lodge is ideally located to explore both Cornwall and Devon, and with beaches, coast, moorland and countryside either within walking distance or a short drive.
There are many leisure and sporting opportunities, particularly golf, surfing, walking, and cycling. Excellent pubs and restaurants, childdren's attractions and family days out.
The nearest town is Camelford, approximately 3 miles away, providing shopping, banking, and food establishments, both eat-in and takeaway, to suit all tastes, particularly an award winning fish and chip shop.
Other activities
A wonderful base to explore Cornwall & Devon & their famous surfing sandy beaches & beautiful coves, with Boscastle & Tintagel close by. Bodmin/Davidstow Moor offers lovely walks & there are cliff top walks along the SW coastal path. For children, try Trehorne Leisure Park, Cornish Birds of Prey Centre, the Blue Reef Aquarium, Flambards & much more. Surfing at Polzeath, Bude, & Widmouth Bay. Learn how at surf schools with equipment hire. Camel Cycle Trail & bike hire; Horse Riding nearby. Sailing, water skiing, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking at Tamar Lakes. Boat hire at Rock. Scuba diving at Harlyn, nr Padstow. Fishing at Crowdy Reservoir. Microlight flying at Moorland Flying Club on Davidstow Moor. Golfers are simply spoilt for choice! Further afield is Hartland Abbey and gardens with its lovely woodland walk to Blackpool Mill, the location of 'Barton Cottage' in BBC's 'Sense & Sensibility'. The walk is a carpet of wildflowers in spring. Visit the Camel Valley Vineyard.
Golf: There are numerous excellent golf courses to be visited in Cornwall at any time of the year, several within a short 'driving' distance of Waterside Lodge! After your game, get in a different round and a satisfying meal at one of the many warm and inviting village pubs in the area!
Tourist attractions
Many National Trust Properties and Gardens. The Eden Project. Boscastle. Tintagel. Port Isaac. Numerous picturesque villages within a drive of an hour or so. The city of Truro and its magnificent cathedral, and much, much more.

Close to the Atlantic Highway and within a few miles of the coastal villages of Boscastle and Tintagel and the beaches at Trebarwith Strand, Polzeath and Daymer Bay.

Deposit/Booking Notes
For pricing please visit https://www.waterside-lodge.com Prices quoted are for a full week. Available SAT - SAT (Peak Periods). Arrive 3 PM Depart 10.00 AM. Out of season short lets are available (1, 2, or 3 nights will be charged as if a 3 night booking is made). These exclude School Holidays & Xmas/New Year, & any other Special Offers. Changeover days can be flexible out of peak times. Our short break prices reflect the fact that our changeover costs are exactly the same as if you were to book a complete week.
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ACCEPT PETS, NOR ALLOW SMOKING OR VAPING INSIDE THE LODGE.
A deposit of 1/3 is required on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before occupation. Plus a security deposit of 100 which will be refunded within 10 days of departure provided there are no damages. To date it has never been necessary to withhold any amount. Usual wear and tear is understood. Payment by Cheque, Bank Transfer or by Paypal.
