    Description

    This 2 bedroom cottage sleeps up to 5 and is located on a working farm in England's West Country in Somerset, at the foothills of the Quantocks.

    Dating back to the 17th century, the coach house is Grade II listed and has been recently restored and refurbished to now provide high quality self-catering accommodation. The wonderful original features and character have been retained. The structure and furnishings are mainly oak timbered and there is underfloor heating throughout on the ground floor, just wonderful under foot.

    There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, both of which have the benefit of ensuite facilities. The living area and kitchen are open plan. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living area with TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, books and games. The property also benefits from wifi, should you wish to bring a laptop/ipad etc. The high quality handmade kitchen is fully equipped with a dual-range master, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, cooking utensils and an integrated fridge freezer. There is also a washing machine and ironing facilities as well as a separate cloakroom.

    Situated on a working farm, there are animals such as horses, chickens, dogs and cats, all of which guests are likely to encounter! They are all very friendly, and love the attention, so do not be afraid to pet them.

    Location description

    The location provides some wonderful scenery and great walking, mountain biking and horse riding opportunities. Should the client so wish, there are stabling facilities which would permit them to bring their own horse. There are many shops, supermarkets, banks etc, in both of the local towns, only a 15 minute drive away. There are also many fantastic country pubs all at a similar distance, and a large market in the village of North Petherton.There are plenty of golfing opportunities in the area, Enmore park, Oake manor, Taunton Vale, to name but a few. Should one wish to go, more information can be giving on site.Places of interest: Glastonbury Tour, Wookey hole caves, cheddar gorge, Jurassic coast, Willows and Wetland Centre. Several theme parks accessible. Burnham-on-Sea with its long sandy beach and sand dunes; Kilve Beach on the West Somerset Coast Path, fantastic rock formations.

    For bathing go to St Audries, Blue Anchor Bay, Dunster.The best beaches are on the south coast (one and half hours drive) and for surfing at Woolacombe to the west. More information can be given on site.

    Directions

    Coming From Taunton along the A38 you will enter the village with a playing fields on your right hand side, shortly after that you will come to a shop on your left hand side called 'Mccolls', there is a left hand road immediately after the shop, take that left, you will go a short distance before reaching a staggered cross roads. Go straight over, so you are continuing uphill up a road called 'Cliff Road'. You will go through a slight built up area, and then go through some end of speed limit signs. Once you have gone through them, it will be about 100 yards until you see a house on your right with a road immediately beside it sign posted 'no through road'. Follow that road which will then lead to a drive which will take you up to the farm, the drive splits in to two, take the left hand fork, and you will then see the coach house in front of you.

    If you are coming from the Bridgwater direction, you will go through the village on the A38, passing a Tesco express and a church both on your left, keep on the A38 until you see the same shop as above 'Mccolls', only it will obviously be on your right hand side, take the road next to it, and follow the directions above.
